Hey, fish people...describe yourself? (10 easy questions for the bored...)?

I'm not referring to merpeople, although you're free to answer as well. :D

Okay so....I'm bored. Anyways, I work at a pet store and I think it's interesting to see the various personalities in relation to different pet keepers. So, today let's talk about fish-lovers. If you love aquarium keeping, feel free to answer. =)

1.) What fish do you currently have?

2.) What are some of your favorite fish and why?

3.) Why do you like fishkeeping? (Looks cool, kills time, feels rewarding, etc.?)

4.) Are you left-brained, right-brained, or somewhere in between?

5.) Are you an extrovert or an introvert?

6.) What are your hobbies?

7.) Who are you? (This is a vague question. You can answer however you like. You can talk about yourself as a person, your likes and dislikes, anything you think is important.)

:D

Update:

Haha, sorry, bit of a brain nerd here. :D

Left brain emphasizes logic, math, science, reason, analytical learning, etc. Right brain emphasizes emotion, language, the arts, visual learning etc.

Extrovert means outgoing. Introvert means keeping to yourself.

I like wild caught fish because when I get tired of them, They are large enough to eat.

Fishkeeping is sort of like a food storage method

    Left? Right? no, brainless

introverted exterovert with severe personality disorder

    aside from fishkeeping, eating

You are what you eat, so I suppose I am an old bullhead

lol merpeople. I am a relatively new hobbyist. While I've had my ponds since I was 8 years old, I only bought my first aquarium about two years ago.

    1. I have a betta, neon tetras, cardinal tetras, harlequin rasboras, a dwarf gourami, guppies, german blue rams, a hifin spotted plecostomus, otocinclus, goldfish, and koi. Housed in 5.5, 10, 20, 40 gallon aquariums, and 1500, and 2500 gallon ponds.

    2. I really like gouramis for their funny ventral fins and behavior. I love goldfish and koi because they have beautiful fins, coloration, and friendly dispositions.

    3. Not only does it look cool but you are in control. I am mildly OCD and need to have everything be a certain way and having an aquarium gives me a little world that I can create, organize and maintain.

I also like fish because it makes it well rounded- I have fish, an amphibian, a reptile, a bird, dogs and a cat.

    4. Apparently I'm both.

    5. It depends on the situation though I am probably more of an introvert. I am quiet with people I don't know but very loud with family and friends. In recent years I have put an effort into appearing more friendly when meeting new people.

    6. Reading (favorite author is Michael Crichton), writing, Egyptology, history, chainmailling, archery, hiking, cycling, swimming, coin collecting, photography, and building DIY tanks.

    7. I'm only 21 years old, so am not yet sure. I feel much older than I am. I love animals. I want to be an animal keeper and habitat designer. I would be miserable at a desk job, and I certainly don't want to work in retail forever. I like physical work.

I doodle stocking plans and design aquariums in school when I should be paying attention.

    1. 3 x Betta (all male), 6 x Male Fancy Guppies, 5 x Blackskirt Tetras, 1 x Angelfish, 4 x Cory Catfish, 1 x Oranda Goldfish, 5 x Ghost Shrimp, a few snails.

    2. Bettas because of their coloration, Fancy goldfish for pretty much the same reason. Oscars also look amazing to me and they are very appealing.

    3. Feels rewarding to me, also kills time.

    4. Left brained

    5. Introvert

    6. Fishkeeping, Chess, Video gaming, occasionally drawing.

    7. 22 year old university student. Not many likes or dislikes per say. I live a very simple-ish lifestyle and I'm an absolute pet lover. I'm the 5th of 6 children. I plan to finish university by this year, and then when I'm doing my Masters I plan to buy my first real big tank. I plan to do my Masters with something animal related.

    1) I keep silver dollars, golden wonder killifish, dwarf neon rainbow fish, upside down catfish, corydoras, a kribensis, a german blue ram, a blue gourami, a common pleco, and an otocinlcus.

    2) My favorite fish are silver dollars because they're so big and shiny. They're also the first non-betta type fish I ever kept. I also love golden wonder killifish because of their attitude. Another favorite of mine are arowanas, but I can't keep those. They get too big and I don't want any tank over 125gallons or 6 feet so I admire the pictures of them.

    3) I like fish-keeping because its sort of a relaxing hobby. Fish definatly have a lot of personality and that makes them so fun to watch. Its intresting to see how they react to each other and how to they react to their environment. I like them as pets because they stay in one spot, don't make a mess out of their tank, don't smell, and don't make noise. These are all thing that annoy me a little about my dog and birds. They also make a great home decoration.

    4) I think I'm more left-brained or maybe somewhere in the middle.

    5) Extrovert

    6) Well I consider fish-keeping a hobby, but other than that I like doing crafts like sewing, beading, painting, and more. I also like to go fishing and exploring everytime I get the chance.

    7) I don't really know how to answer this one, but I'll try. I like being out and active whether thats in nature or at the mall. I love being with family and friends and I like to learn about new things. Guilt is my downfall I think. Which is why I try not to lie or do anything I'll regret. I'm also terrified of moths is thats even important. (Sorry not sure what else to say.)

    Hellooo :)

    1) I currently have 1 betta, 2 platys, and a mystery snail.

    2) I live rainbow fish, although I don't have any :(, I love bettas, they are soooo pretty! And also, for saltwater, royal grammas.

    3) I need something to take my mind off of everything around me. School, family, friends, etc. Fish are just so peaceful, it's the perfect thing to do that.

    4) I'm not exactly sure what that means LOL

    5) EXTROVERT!!!!!!!!!!!! ENFJ!!!!!!!!!

    6) Fish, collages, any crafty things, and being obsessed with anything and everything 8D

    7) I am me. I am the person who people take as weird, because I sometimes get caught up in my own little world ;p My favorite things in the whole world, fish, MJ (YEEEAAAAHH!!!!), music, and my friends :)

    1) A betta, a dwarf gourami, 6-8 or so of wild "feeder" guppies, and a chinese algae eater that I was given to me as a "gift"... One reason I'm so against "gift fish"... Either way, he's pleasant.. Fairly large and seems, so far, non-aggressive.. But I'm waiting for the day.. And trying to rehome him.. Want one? lol

    2) Goldfish. Specifically black moors, lionheads, and ranchus. I LOVE goldfish because of their "cute" factor.. And the fact that they get large. I love the black moors for their colors. LOVE the jet black and the crazy eyes. And I love the lionheads and ranchus for their bizarre looks, and the cute, fat, "chibi" face. lol

    3) I love animals. I love fish. It's relaxing to have fish tanks around. Fish interest me moreso than many other animals.. For several reasons. I find them beautiful, attractive, and unique in all aspects. Plus, yes, it is very rewarding to be able to simulate their natural habitats and keep them happy and healthy. It feels like more of a challenge to me, than caring for my dogs. I can't just name one reason why I enjoy fish keeping.

    4) Left-brained. I'm so much better at history, english, and the arts. lol

    5) Introvert. I've come out of my shell a bit, comparedly. So I'm about 60/40 :P

    6) Besides fish keeping? lol. I love to read, play guitar and my saxophone, train my dogs and help others with theirs, I'm a big video gamer, and a big outdoors enthusist. My FAV outdoor activty would be canoeing/kayaking our local Buffalo National River :). Or swimming there.. Or hiking there :) lol

    7) This is an awful question for someone who could go on forever lol. So, some small stats on me: My last name is Monday, how great is that? I'm 20. I'm an Americorps VISTA. VISTA is a "paid volunteer" type thing. You only make a "living allowance", so I get paid very little for having a full time job.. Anyway! We are working to help poverty and the community. They place you in a work place where you devote 40 hours a week.. I'm in the Educational Opportunity Center, which helps students and non-traditional students find money and get enrolled in college. It's a great program.. But we are also required to put in 80+ volunteer hours within a year. I do a lot of small projects here and there, but my big one is volunteering with a local animal rescue group, Castaway Critters. I help find donations, volunteers for different events, and help find any other resources they may need.. Such as a building to hold adoptathons in the winter months, places to hold and help set up BIG fundraising events, I keep there website on petfinder.com updated, and I am currently working on helping them finish up their 501c3 paperwork so they will start qualifying for grants and tax exemption... This job, my dogs, and fish keep my pretty busy! But I really enjoy it! :)

Anyway.. I feel as if I've written to much already! So I'll end it! Is it obvious I'm bored here? lol
