When was the last time an F1 driver called in sick?

Not due to injuries sustained on or off track, just some common illness like the cold or fever.

The last one I remember missing a race off the top of my head was Eddie Irvine at the 2000 Austrian GP. Did he have tonsilitis or something similar?

That was the only driver replacement during the whole season!

I can't think of a time when a driver has called in sick. However, if I were to make up an imaginary scenario I would say something along the lines of...Was it not Timo Glock last season with the cold or flu?

He hurt his back at Suzuka I think (during qualy), then Kobayashi replaced him but I'm sure he called in sick during free practice that weekend.

Timo Glock 2009 in Suzuka, he missed the free practice on Friday because of a flue/cold and fever.

He did race in qualifying and then had an accident where he hurt his spine and leg and missed the last two races, that is why Kobayashi(test driver at toyata) replaced him in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

F1 drivers are probably some of the fittest athletes around, their health is very important to the team so they are monitored 24/7

I think in 1997 Gerhard Berger missed 2 races due to dental(?) surgery. He was replaced by Alexander Wurz.
