how old should kids be before watching a PG movie?

My twins will be 5 in august, I wanted to watch "A nightmare before christmas" with them, because I remember really liking it, but I don't remember if there's really scary parts in it. They're started to watch shows that are a little older, my son loves spiderman and transformers, but still loves diego and thomas. My daughter is the same, she loves wonder woman and batman, but still likes dora and barbie. I checked out the rating and it's PG, should they be at least 8 before I show it to them, or would they like it? I know my friends kids watch all kinds of older adult movies, but i don't usually let them watch adult shows. Thanks for your help.

relies upon on the action picture and it relies upon on the newborn. There are PG-13 videos that are a hair previous PG. There are PG-13 videos that are a hair faraway from R. i exploit the score as a handbook, yet for each PG-13 action picture I evaluate taking my youthful ones to, I verify the evaluation and the parental advisory information.
