Yeah, probably could switch- best ones are low rise, pouch front briefs, and he won't have to wear white either. JC Penney has stafford brand, in a variety of colors, I wear briefs always and haven't worn white since I was a teenager. CK is fine too, as are Tommy Hilfiger or any higher quality brand-the pouch will enhance his gear, too, so he'll look more "mature" than the other guys. Of course he can keep wearing what he wears, if he likes them, and just brush off the idiot comments and maybe reply that boxers are for guys who don't have anything to support.

My guess is that his "friends" (I say that, because real friends would not bother him about this) are envious that he is comfortable wearing what he likes rather than what is popular underwear for high school boys. Don't the other track team mates wear jocks or support briefs when practicing or at a meet? If so, what's "wrong" with wearing tighty whities? I don't think that changing the brand of underwear will make a difference. Maybe the color might, but it's all cosmetic anyway. Perhaps you could tell him that he needs to say to the guys who are giving him a hard time the following. "You're just envious that you can't wear tighty whities. You don't have the physique for them." And leave it at that. If they truly do harass him, he needs to tell the coach/other teacher/vice-principal/principal to prevent any extreme treatment. I am a Freshman in high school and it is weird when you see someone in tighty whities... Maybe he should try boxer briefs? They have the support of tighty whities, but have the comfort of boxers, they are the best of both worlds. I wear boxer briefs and don't get made fun of, so I would recommend switching.

My friend got made fun of for tighty whiteys too. I actually kidded him about it too sometimes. We don't mean anything when we poke fun at what other people are wearing but sometimes it gets out of hand and people get hurt. If he switched that would stop but don't worry about a designer brand or anything.

Well, I think he should wear boxers or at least boxer-briefs from some popular store where many teenagers purchase their clothes, such as American Eagle, Aeropostale, Abercrombie, Hollister, etc. Calvin Klein's may also work.
