Why does anyone think Obama can grant citizenship?

Obama can not grant amnesty. It must be sent Thu both houses and signed by him.

I doubt this will happen if Obama wants to be reelected, which at the present time does not look good for him. We allowed amnesty 10-15 years ago and its worse now. If you were a legal Mexican would you not be pi**ed off that illegal Mexicans are driving down your wages and being grouped together with criminals? I would think that the legal Mexicans would stand up and be counted, as they did it the Right way.

Most people are under the impression, that any president,no matter who it is can grant citizenship. They think this office is all powerful, and can do want they want. This far from the whole picture. The they could have flunked, was by not paying attention in class, or they never showed up for class. They would have learned about the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution.

And if Congress passed such legislation, someone would have to ensure all illegals were recorded and given papers validating their citizenship. The executive branch would be in charge of that.

And if you don't think the Presidency has become a legislative branch, forget civics- you'd better go back to second grade social studies. How many executive orders did Bush sign in eight years?

Premier Obama made himself out to be godlike during his campaign, making promises the country can't keep. One of those happens to be amnesty for illegal immigrants. I presume he wants them legalized by Nov. so they can go to the polls and keep his cronies in office. Its disgusting 15 million Americans out of work and he wants to give millions of illegals the opportunity to keep those jobs legally. Who is he supposed to be representing?
