Straw bales at a wedding.?
I was thinking about having straw bales at my wedding, it's outside to have people sit on, of course I was going to cover them so the straw can't be seen. How many people would be able to comfortably be able to sit on a bale. I'm thinking 2 but I'm not 100% sure....thanks.
I grew up on a farm that's how I know the difference...lol

Ok straw will come through cloth I use to have to sleep on it when one of our horses colicked! So it might be wise to get a type of hay instead of straw if you can afford it. Though allergies can be a problem a solution is to simple LIGHTLY hose the bales before you put sheets ovver them (I say lightly since bales if soaked can do what they call internally combust!) Just be sure to bring the bales in EARLY so that dust has time to settle maybe have someone go around with a spray bottle or two and spray them then cover them with a sheet. Also each farmer bales hay in a different way! So look at them and think is this a 2 or 3 person bale, just keep in mind that if oyu have someone obese or someone who has touching other people issues then it will be one person on that bale! To be on the safe side go with 2! I like this idea it has a pretty unique feel to it! (and most of hte info above you probably know since you too grew up on a farm!)

A normal size bale is gonna sit two people pretty comfortably. And it would be almost required to have them covered up, as no one really likes having straw poking at their rears..hehe.
And thanks for calling them straw bales, and not hay bales like everyone around here....ugh...

BEWARE OF ALLERGIES!!!!
Straw bales, while cute and rustic, may be the difference between tears of joy and uncontrollable itchy watery eyes.
That said, two people can sit on one quite comfortably.
If you're planning to have them at your wedding please inform your guests so they can get hopped up on Claritin before they arrive.
A straw bale is enough to make me stop breathing, and I know many people are allergic/asthmatic around them.
