You have to use the DISTRIBUTION PROPERTY for this. So you take the number outside of the parantheses and multiply that to every number inside. I'm using a star for multiplication so you don't get it confused with "x". Remember the "Order of Operations".
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Addition
Subtraction
In case you don't know those, when I was learning them we remember the order by saying "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally".
(3 * 5x + 3 * 4 - 3 * 2x) + (5 * 3x - 5 * 3) = 45
I did the extra parantheses just so you know which part is which.
So that would go to:
15x + 12 - 6x - 15x - 15 = 45
Because you distributed, the parentheses are no longer needed.
Use "like terms". Make all the "x"s go to one side. In this case, it would be easier to subtract all the numbers with an "x" from each side.
Subtract: 12 and -15 (since subtracting cancels the negative, it's actually adding 15)
This leaves you with:
15x - 6x + 15x = 48
Combine all the like terms (the numbers with an "x").
24x = 48
Now divide each side by 24
x = 2
That's your final answer.

First, distribute-- multiply each number outside the parentheses by what's inside the parentheses.
3(5x + 4 - 2x) = 15x + 12 - 6x
5(3x -3) = 15x -15
So put those two together and you get
15x + 12 - 6x + 15x -15 = 45
Combine like terms (add the terms with x together and the terms without x together):
24x - 3 = 45
Add the 3 on both sides:
24x = 48
Divide by 24 on both sides to solve for x:
x = 2
There you go! You can check it by inserting 2 for x in the original equation.
If you didn't understand any of these steps, you should really ask your teacher for help. It's important that you learn how to do it on your own instead of just looking up the answers. Believe me, you will DEFINITELY get the hang of it and it will become a breeze in no time, if you practice a little bit. Good luck!

3(5x + 4 - 2x) + 5(3x - 3) = 45
3*5x+3*4-3*2x+5*3x-5*3 = 45
15x + 12 - 6x + 15x - 15 = 45
15x + 15x - 6x + 12 - 15 = 45
24x - 3 = 45
24x = 45 + 3
24x = 48
x = 48/24
x = 2

3(5x + 4 - 2x) + 5(3x - 3) = 45
3(3x + 4) + 5(3x + -3) = 45 Combine like terms within the parentheses
(9x + 12) + (15x - 15) = 45 Distibute the 3 & 5
THE PARENTHESES ABOVE JUST SHOW THE VARIATION FROM THE PREVIOUS STEP.
24x - 3 = 45 Combine like terms
+ 3 + 3
24x = 49

24 24 Divide by 24
I'll leave you there

3(5x + 4 - 2x) + 5(3x - 3) = 45 (Distribute)
15x + 12 - 6x + 15x - 15 = 45 (Combine like terms)
24x - 3 = 45 (Add 3 to both sides)
24x = 48 (Divide both sides by 24)
x = 2

1. 3(5x + 4 - 2x) + 5(3x - 3) = 45
2. 15x + 12 - 6x + 15x - 15 = 45 multiply it out
3. 24x = 48 combine like terms
4. x = 2 divide by 24

3(5x + 4 - 2x) + 5(3x - 3) = 45
15x + 12 -6x + 15x -15 = 45
24x - 3 = 45
24x = 45 +3
24x = 48
Thus, x = 2

3((5x-2x) + 4) + 5(3x - 3) = 45
3(3x + 4) + 5(3x - 3) = 45
3(3x) + 3(4) + 5(3x) - 5(3) = 45
3(3x) + 12 + 5(3x) - 15 = 45
3(3x) + 12 - 15 + 5(3x) = 45
3(3x) + -3 + 5(3x) = 45
3(3x) + -3 - -3 + 5(3x) = 45 - -3
3(3x) + 5(3x) = 42
3(3x) / 3 + 5(3x) = 42/3
3x + 5(3x) = 14
3x + 5(3x) / 5 = 14/5
kay so im tired of answering and this might be wrong im sorry check the back of your book
