Siblings 20 months apart: Advice on getting along?
Turns out I'm pregnant again (yay!) and I already have a one-year-old girl. This kid is due sometime in December, assuming the pregnancy works out.
Anybody have advice on ensuring they get along as well as possible? I understand it may cycle in and out depending on age. Also, don't know if this would be a boy or girl yet -- does that make a difference, in your experience?
Thank you for all constructive replies! :)

You cannot control how they will react to one another. What you can do, is treat them equally and mediate when necessary. Sibling rivalry is completely normal, get used to it. Kids are people too, with thoughts and emotions of their own, they're not robots, they cannot be controlled, just guided, and reprimanded when necessary.

my sister has two girls one year apart and the oldest one loves her sister so much. she shares everything with her. she doesn't get something without giving some to her little sister. little kids love babies whether it's a boy or a girl so I don't think you have to do much just tell your older girl that that's their little brother/sister and that he/she loves her and tell her to share everything and give equal amount of love even tho the baby might need more attention try going to the park.

I have 2 boys 14 months apart and they are a handful. Maybe girls are easier.

just dont give one child something, and not give it to the other. whether it be more love, or something like a piece of candy, hhaha. kids are just real sensitive about things like that.
