my one month old son loves standing?

hi everyone. my one month old son has a habit of standing when hes on my lap. when im holding him, he will actually push up with his feet in order to stand. i don't know if this is safe for him to do. hes holding up his head now also (started doing that at 1 week). my question is is it safe for him to stand for short periods on my lap? im worried becuz his bones arent developed yet n im scared it might hurt him. he hates being held like a baby, so the only way i can hold him for him not to fuss is to put him on my shoulder n thats when he stands. please give me ur thoughts n experienc.....thnx

His bones won't be developed until he's in his early 20s.

My daughter was exactly the same way. I had the odd older family member tell me that it was bad... she'd get bow legged... she's fine. It's great exercise.

Its perfectly fine and won't hurt them at all, its actually a reflex at that age that when their feet touch a surface like that to push against it, in a few weeks everything will change. The first year is a whirlwind of short phases!

I was told it was bad for their legs so I told my boyfriend not to let him. But he brought it up when we went for the 1 month appointment and the doctor said it was a great thing. Just help support him and when his legs get tired he won't try to keep doing it.

It should be fine, If he wasn't comfortable doing it he would let you know.
