does this make anyone else cry?

Update:

or does this game actually introduce kids to music enough to actually get them thinking of playing?

i think they need orchestra hero....

Update 2:

become famous for anything? what am i doing wrong :(

Update 3:

Jack: I love your answer. - unplugged he could do nothing. however, this does apply to the classical music forum - as this forum is the only forum here that appreciates the preservation of actual playing and music. (perhaps that is a biased statement - but somehow I doubt it.)

I'm sorry but this is the classical forum. Perhaps you should post this in the appropriate forum because I have no idea what this kid is trying to do. I assume this is a video game but not being familiar with the game I am not sure what I was listening for. Guiness has awarded him the title of "Best Guitar Player in the World" so he must be pretty good at what he does however I wonder how good he would be if someone unplugged his guitar?

Yes it really is pathetic in terms musical instruments in two factors

    1) the notes chords and strings are digital and is just a toy and does not compare to the real guitars which take years to master perfectly.

2 it is a video game which actually makes the playing much more easier and less sophisticated than the real guitar.

I wish that it would introduce kids to the real thing, if not then all that we have worked on over the centuries is lost.

I actually could not tell how much of what is heard, that the guitarist was responsible for.

Therefore don't know whether to consider him something of a virtuoso, or just a "technical wizard".

And it doesn't make me cry, just CRINGE. Pastimes like video games to me or only another means of "escapism"; which it seems that predominately our youth culture has become so enamored of - POOR SOULS.

I could write a 3-4 page essay on the devolution/evolution of present-day civilization; but probably no one would read it - so why bother?

Yee Gads! Two sentences ending with prepositions.

Best I don't continue with another page or 2(or 3-4),

    Alberich

edit: - "i.jones": about the Widor; why is that?

  • 1 decade ago

Not really - it's a game, not real music. I think most Guitar Hero players should/would realize that. I. Jones's link, however, does make me shiver inside in all the wrong ways.

It's fine to introduce kids to music though this, but to make them think that this is *real* music is simply wrong. And not all that common, if my optimism serves me right.

makes me frown. makes me wanna puke. its too much of an arcade / karaoke atmosphere to make me wanna cry. i think this is the ultimate perversion of the relationship of a human being with a musical instrument.
