Are you obligated to visit your mother in law on mothers day or does your?

husband and/or children do something for you? What are your plans for mothers day?

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!!

Update:

dudleydo, my mom is dead for one thing.

Update 2:

I have been a mother for 23 years & no one has EVER catered to me. I think my time is due to rest if that's what I choose this mother's day.

I asked hubby if we could stop at Burger King for sandwiches 'to go' for lunch after church this morning so I wouldn't have to cook or wash dishes today.

I'm old fashioned and instead of going to tanning bed, I like to sit in the sun ..so later today I plan to sit in sun listening to sermons on MP3 player.

    I visited my mom yesterday.

No, not necessarily obligated. Sometimes its difficult to work out visiting rotations when multiple families are involved. Maybe you could see your in laws one year, then the next year spend time for yourself. And even if you visit your mother in law, your husband and kids should do something for you. I guess you can get even with him by doing nothing for him on Father's day = )

I think Mother's Day should be spent with your kids if you have little ones (and that's what you want, lol). A phone call to grown women from grown women seems like it should be sufficient, unless both parties want to do more.

You should try to visit your Mother and your husbands Mother on Mothers Day. It will not hurt you and you will find it does you good to do things for others instead of being selfish and expecting everyone to cater to just you.
