How will my NI get paid?

I recently gave up work and have decided to change my career and study at home. I am claiming CTC and Housing benefit but I am not claiming job seekers allowance as I do not want to work at the moment and concentrate on my studies. If i go on job seekers allowance they ask you to get a job and go for an interview etc....When you claim your NI gets paid....what will happen if i dont claim it..what will happen to my NI contributions...is there a way that this can be paid?

Thanks

you can pay them yourself by standing order from your bank account

other than that, the job centre will only pay them if you are actively seeking work, and jobless through no fault of your own

It costs about £2 a week to pay your own NI contributions but you need to let the tax office know. Do you have a partner and that is why you are not claiming job seekers? if you have a partner you wont get job seekers allowance and if you claim you will only get £40 as you claim for kids through CTC, if you do not have a partner I would claim job seekers as you can still study while getting job seekers?

You will have to pay them yourself.

Contact this mob and ask them about it all
