Will Facebook tell someone if I un-friend them?

Recently a friend's wall posts have been really annoying me with their content. I know I could just hide the person, but I would like to just disassociate myself from this person -- without drama. If I de-friend the person, will Facebook announce it to the world? To them?

The answer is no. When you remove someone from your list of friends, you are automatically removed from theirs. Although Facebook won’t notify you when being removed from a list of friends, you still can deduce it by noticing an absence in your own list.

Nobody is notified if you un-friend someone.

If you didn't post much, the only way your ex-friend will know is if they check their friends list and notice you're missing. But remember, all of your posts that your ex-friend could see will also disappear; so if you posted something recently, the fact that it's now gone could tip them off.

Nope they won't receive a message or anything. They however will be able to see that they are not friends with you anymore if they attempt to go to your wall and such.

No but the friend you delete might notice. Either way, there might be drama.

no, the friend will not receive a notification of any kind, but they will notice that they have 1 less friend and notice that you're missing from their list.
