AWW what matters is that you gave it all the love and care you could.

you know... we have friends who had a very young cat die.... for a long time they couldnt figure out what caused it. Then it occured to them that that same day he died, there was a wasp in the house. they think the wasp stung the cat and the cat was allergic and went into shock and died.

It's a stretch, but could be the reason.... especially if your cat was an outdoor cat.

There are many reasons as to why a cat might die so young...only an investigation from a vet could give you a real reason as it could be anything from something they have eaten that wasnt' good for them, to a congenital/hereditery reason such as a weak heart.

I'm really sorry to hear about your cat.

Unfortunately, if he displayed no symptoms of illness then the only way to find out what killed him is to have your vet perform an autopsy which can be rather costly.

He could have had a parasite, a rare medical condition, or ate something bad/ poisonous, choked on something...the reasons are numerous. To be on the safe side, take him to your local Humane Society to have him properly disposed of or cremated. He could've been bit and contracted a disease that could be harmful to you.
