Tattoo Artist Advice...?

I just got my first tattoo on my wrist Friday night. The artist told me to NOT moisturize, and don't touch the scab that comes, but smack it if it itches.....but 3 friends said to use A & D ointment, I did.

Although, my friend Krys found out and is now bringing me Vaseline tomorrow at school because she said she and her mom used A & D and their tattoos faded.

BUT another friend, Jay, said that it was just the tattoo parlor Krys and her mom went to (apparently that parlor sucked, it's closed now) because Jay's tattoo that he got there needs to be touched up once a year because of the crappy ink quality (Jay has about 5 tats).

But my other friend Enna has many tattoos and she and her family always use A & D...

I'm lost.

When should I stop using A & D? Should I use something else? It's not weeping anymore. I wash it with antibacterial soap 3 times a day, is that all I should be doing at this time?

When do I stop covering my tattoo before I go to sleep?

Don't use vasline, it's greasy and not meant for tattoos. I use H2Ocean for my tattoo but lots of people use A&D. It should be fine to use for however long. You should have a routine of cleaning your tattoo at least twice a day and moisturize right after for the first two weeks. Then you don't have to clean it as religiously. I prefer to just wash my tattoo in the shower and put moisturizer on afterward so it won't fade or get really dry. When you moisturize, just make sure it's absorbed completely into the skin and that there's no excess sitting there. And you don't have to cover it up while you sleep.

Going to tuition for artwork definately will not do any harm. Becoming a tattoo artist is usually performed through fitting an apprentice to a legit. During this time you can be very nearly mopping flooring, establishing the tattooing locations, cleansing the store, answering the mobilephone, and jogging out to get lunch for the artists lol. You'll even be studying from the artist approximately the best way to observe tattoos, the best way to load the gun, and the various different matters concerned. Also, it would not harm to construct a portfolio of your artwork and exhibit it to the tattoo artist that you just desire to be your trainer. Tattooing is a tricky career to go into. Hope this is helping and Good good fortune!
