I want to adopt upcoming baby of my brother in Brazil?

My brother and his wife will not cope financially once the baby arrives. I and my husband been longing to have a baby and we don’t mind if it will be my brother's baby. I and my husband are both US citizens here in USA and I also have a Brazilian citizenship, will it be difficult? We don’t know whom to ask and how we are going to process the adoption papers? Please give us advice on how to adopt a baby ....my brother's baby that will be born sometime in December this year. My brother and his wife are willing to do it whatever it takes as long as they know who will look after their baby. And I did promise them that I will love the baby because the baby is not only my nephew or niece but I will treat the baby as my own because it’s my brothers baby. Please help us how to do it right?

Brazilian adoption laws got a lot better last year.I think the whole process will take two weeks and since it`s your brother`s baby and you have brazilian citizenship it will make the things really easy. Your best aproach is to contact a lawyer especialized on adoption in Brazil. I found this law firm http://www.diasmarques.adv.br/pt/adocao_internacio... that deals with it but the honoraries are a little high.

Perhaps the most loving thing that you can do in this situation is help your brother with the items and money that he will need to raise his own baby. Keeping the family intact and together should be of the utmost importance.

I agree with Devonchaos. Be a good sister and help your brother keep his child, versus splitting up his family. Either send them money, or move there and help them, or help your brother and his family to move to the states. It would be hard to sleep at night knowing you took a child away from his Mother and father.
