Is Jesus Christ really GOD?

In Isaiah 9:7- it tells a child is born and is a prophecy for Messiah or Christ in Greek to come to Earth in the Virgin Mary, And also its says God, Eternal Father and more.

IN John 14:28 he says he came to earth because of his FATHER or GOD.

People get congfused with John1:1 that Jesus, the Word is a god, (not GOD)

Jesus is a god (not GOD) because of his powers but his FATHER is the MAJOR ALMIGHTY GOD Yes I am a JW, we believe in the Virgin Mary, Jesus as god (not God), Jehovah was removed back then in the Bibles just to prevent people learning his name.

Just something.

Update:

Haha, we do learn science and math, cause GOD created them of the atoms, cells, and that kind of stuff, but nowhere in the bible it says that man was created by evolution, but we do adapt to the environment when Adam and Eve were born perfect and then sinned.

Update 2:

If Jesus came to earth, then the Trinity is divided with just two heads, and if the Trinity came to Earth, then Jesus would have three heads.

Update 3:

Ok, we use other types of bibles too to disprove it, from Catholic to Protestants, except, other religions that have bibles that aren't christian.

According to the Bible, the answer is NO.

How so? Well in Revelation 3:14 (supported by Colossians 1:15), Jesus is referred to clearly as "the beginning of the creation by God". Since it says that God's creative acts started with Jesus, that means Jesus was created. He was brought into existence BY God.....which clearly and simply means that Jesus CANNOT be God himself.

From the note on John 1:1 in the ESV Study Bible: "Some have claimed that “the Word was God” merely identifies Jesus as a god rather than identifying Jesus as God, because the Greek word for God, Theos, is not preceded by a definite article. However, in Greek grammar, Colwell's Rule indicates that the translation “a god” is not required, for lack of an article does not necessarily indicate indefiniteness (“a god”) but rather specifies that a given term (“God”) is the predicate nominative of a definite subject (“the Word”). This means that the context must determine the meaning of Theos here, and the context clearly indicates that this “God” that John is talking about (“the Word”) is the one true God who created all things (see also John 1:6, 12, 13, 18 for other examples of Theos without a definite article but clearly meaning “God”)."

You are also confused about the word Jehovah. It has never been removed from Bibles. The Hebrew word is more properly spelled Yahweh, or YHWH. Because the Hebrew people said "adoni" (Lord) instead of pronouncing the divine name the Hebrew word for YHWH is given the vowel pointing for the word "adoni." When the Hebrew Name is pronounced with the vowels for "adoni" it sounds like Jehovah. Jehovah is actually a mispronunciation of the Name YHWH.

Jesus is clearly shown to be God the Son from his statements that he and the Father are one, his control of nature, his feeding the 5,000 (recapitulates the mannah in the wilderness which was provided by YHWH), his control over evil spirits, his claim to forgive sins. The Pharisees of his day were extremely clear about who Jesus claimed to be. They knew he claimed to be God and that is why they sought to kill him.

Please find your way out of the JW, and seek help from a church that is biblically based and in line with the apostolic teaching of the Bible.

I guess to believe Jesus is God, you have to believe in the Trinity. God in three parts, the Holy Spirit, Father, and Son. They all are a part of God that make the whole.

Faith isn't always about logic, because the concept of God, other that personal feeling and conviction is hard to prove. God is many things to many people, no matter what you call him, but I believe it is as hard to deny God as it is to accept him. I just know the universe is just as hard to explain, but it is obviously out there and at the moment beyond our comprehension.

Yes, I believe Jesus is a part of God, and therefore is also God.

JW's are very confused because they use the NIV bible instead of the King James. Read Revelation 22:19 and then ask yourself, "how many words have been changed in this bastardized version of Gods word"? JW's are a cult that are not even allowed to question anything they are taught. Pray to God and ask him to deliver you form your Satanic church.

    Matthew 26:63-64

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.""Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

Jesus is God in human flesh. He is not half God and half man. He is fully divine and fully man. That is, Jesus has two distinct natures: divine and human. Jesus is the Word who was God and was with God and was made flesh, (John 1:1,14). This means that in the single person of Jesus is both a human and divine nature. The divine nature was not changed. It was not altered. He is not merely a man who "had God within Him" nor is he a man who "manifested the God principle." He is God, second person of the Trinity.

There are no such things as gods. Jesus is a fictional character derived from ancient mythology.

Try to imagine what your life might be like if you stopped trying to make sense out of nonsensical fairy tales from ancient mythology (which you admitted yourself is confusing) and actually devoted your intellect to science or the pursuit of academic learning.

Witnesses of Jehovah need to recall that not all Bibles "prevent" people from learning God's Name. The Jerusalem and New Jerusalem Bible use it as "Yahweh" throughout as does the new World English Bible. Whether pronounced as "Yahweh" or "Jehovah," God’s name also appears prominently in many popular hymns.

True, when the New World Translation was published it was common for the Watchtower Society to declare that other Bibles just didn't aid persons in learning about the true God, but we can't say that today. Most people read modern versions that either use the name prominently or at least call attention to it in footnotes and in an appendix. As mentioned before, the New Jerusalem Bible uses it extensively, and that Bible is the most widely read Catholic Bible in the English-speaking world.

But besides all this I do repeat a warning many seem to be ignoring. It has been noted that many Witnesses, especially young people, are using public forums like this one in an attempt to declare the truths of God's word. While their motives may be praiseworthy, the way it is being carried out by some leaves room for much doubt as to the claim of being one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Of course Witnesses are not forbidden from using the Internet or posting in public forums, yet it appears as if many who are doing so are not following the warnings received during meetings, Watchtower studies, or instruction delivered from the platform regarding the Internet during recent conventions and assemblies.

Since this is a public forum if we are Jehovah's Witnesses then we must remember that we cannot exclude others from answering our questions. Neither should we ignore others who ask valid questions or even demand evidence from us when we preach the good news. Some who are claiming to be Jehovah's Witnesses often ignore such questions, treat those asking them with rudeness, or wantonly passing out "thumbs down" ratings merely because the person answering does not identify themselves as a Witness or because the one asking the question doesn't know who they are. We would not be rude to our neighbor in the door-to-door work or if we met them on the street, would we? Why do we change our attitudes in this forum? How we act here can and will bring reproach on Jehovah's people and His name if we do not act in a Christian manner. Besides it is equally possible that some on here are too eager to claim they are who they are not, and so there is really no way of telling who is a genuine Witness.

As for posting questions, are we really posting questions or are we disguising an attempt to spread our teachings as if we were searching for an answer. It is dishonest to use a question board on the Internet to "ask" questions we already have an answer for and if we intend to give "thumbs down" to everyone except fellow Witnesses. Remember who the father of the lie is, and being dishonest here is just as much as a lie in public. It’s not a question if you are just using this place as a sounding board, however good your intentions are, so don’t lie by doing that.

Lastly, the above presentation just doesn't match the way Jehovah's Witnesses are taught to explain and defend their stand on the subject you are trying to address. While we are constantly encouraged to speak from the heart, we should not forget that if we are to be representing Jehovah's people in a public forum then we might not want to stray too much from some of the examples in the abundance of literature already provided.

There does not seem to be much of an attempt at either reasoning or proving your point in the above question. In fact it doesn't seem to be a question at all. It seems you are just challenging others. Perhaps you should review the "Trinity" brochure or at least make reference to it here (there is a section below to cite references, and that brochure is on the Watchtower.org site for the public to read). You also might want to check you motives: Am I being honest in asking a question or am I giving in to a spirit of triumphalism, trying to make me sound superior because I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses? If I already know the answer, why am I asking a question here of the public? Do I want to get informed by an apostate in disguise? Am I letting myself open to such a thing? If a Witness wants to know something about the Bible, would not they ask it of an elder or look it up in one of the Watchtower publications? They wouldn't ask the public on Yahoo! for their answer. Is God's truth found here or are Witnesses going to learn the truth from the only channel that the Watchtower has been directing people to for years?
