internet explorer eight?
I just loaded it on to my other computer and now it's slow. Any help as to why it's happening and what I can do to fix it?
Thanks

Andy's answer is so boring and predictable. And also wrong.
IE8 is much faster than Firefox.
The reason why your PC has slowed down can't be predicted from the information you gave. What version of Windows, how much RAM, what antivirus do you have, any other system details - all would help.
EDIT: Garrett - get over yourself. I notice you didn't answer the OP's question either - you just took the opportunity to plug your favourite non-Microsoft browser like a typical juvenile fanboi.

"Don't use Internet Explorer. Stick to Firefox or Chrome." Well that is an uneducated statement. Here let me make it a bit better.
Internet explorer (I.E.) is a basic web browser. Windows really only uses it for manual updates and "secure browsing". They know they didn't hit the nail on the head with it and frankly could care less (they made the operating system). That is why there are browsers like the ones mentioned above but he left out a bid one "Opera" This web browser is not as talked about but a very good one. Anyway to actually answer the question I.E. does not have good connection resource management and in so it is prown to be slow. There is really no fix it is the software also if it is in any way new that means it is relatively untested and would be another reason. Like the first guy said download either Firefox or Opera they are both free more secure and faster. Other than that could be your internet service provider (ISP) but i dought it cuz you said it happened after installing I.E.8 so just try this and feel free to email me (just go to my profile and hit the email me thing) and i will help you however i can.

OMG how are you a top contributor with statements like this? IE is not faster than FireFox and has a smaller footprint so ram would be no issue nor would the anti-virus as it would auto set to be the same same and would overlap with the crappy built in security that helps slow doesn't IE. *Ha* top contributor my ***.

Actually i did answer the question i said it is a problem with undeveloped software and built in features that bog it down. I also mentioned how I.E. was not supposed to be a primary browser but a portal throw which secure browsing and updated can be administered. And said why 3rd party browsers are better and that is because they are dedicated browsers developed by companies which only goal is the browser. so tell me, how you explained any of this?
