Promise Ring & Grad gift for him! Ideas please?

First of all, congrats on taking the step toward promise rings! That must be a great feeling. As for the ring, you need to know if he's a gold, white gold, or silver kind of guy. You can easily tell that if he wears any other jewelry of any kind (watch, necklaces, etc.) If he doesn't wear any, just ask. Also, you said he's artsy, so he might enjoy engravings or patterns... or he might just prefer something simple and plain, similar to a traditional wedding band. Also, make sure you get it from a place that re-sizes it for free. Even if you know his ring size, over the years it may change and most places offer for you to have it cleaned and re-sized for life. JC Penny and Macy's do this for sure.

As for a graduation gift, it all depends on your budget. The promise ring is going to be expensive no matter what, lol. What kind of artist is he? Musician? Writer? Painter? Sketch artist? For a musician, you could make him a CD of songs that you know he enjoys and design the cover art yourself, or maybe buy him an hour in a recording studio. A writer might like a first edition copy from their favorite author, or you can get him a nice journal with a personal message inside, and maybe his name professionally engraved on it somewhere. A painter or sketch artist always loves new supplies (sketch book, charcoals, paint, brushes, etc.)... or you can even try your own hand at his craft and create a piece of art he can hang in his room. First of all, age is just a quantity, and real love conquers all, so long as each folks paintings at it. My boyfriend and I had been in combination on account that we have been 14, and he acquired me a promise ring once we have been 17. We now, are making plans on getting married subsequent December!
