Why is it okay for liberals to bash Christians, but it's not okay for me to abhore alternative lifestyles?
I'm Catholic.
I don't believe in abortion. It's killing.
I believe that only 1 man and 1 woman should be able to marry.
I don't "tolerate" alternative lifestyles because they are deviant and just plain wrong.
Aren't I entitled to MY beliefs without being called a HATER? I don't hate these people. I just don't accept what they do as moral or right.
It is just SICK the way liberals throw around "ignorant" when you don't agree with them. I laugh every time you people do it. I'm very intelligent. I just don't accept your deviant ways. What's WRONG is WRONG no matter what you say.
I have to "tolerate" your bad behavior because YOU said so. I don't think so. Talking to a liberal is like talking to a young child who wants to do something bad and get away with it.

You will be called everything but a child of God for even asking the question. Consequently, they will reveal their own self hatred and bigotry for not openly displaying the kind of courage it took for you to simply ask the question.
It reveals a very important truth espoused by someone smarter than me, oh, long about the time our country was founded. In simple terms, a nation that is not virtuous will not last.
It is a sick person, indeed that can support pulling a child partially out of the womb, ramming a medical instrument into the brain, killing it, pulling it the rest of the way out and justify it by calling it partial birth abortion. The screams of the unborn are muffled by the very womb God intended to protect it.
Just another socially acceptable term for socially unacceptable behavior.
Hold your head up and be proud of your convictions.

RLP,I'm Catholic, too. So I don't bash the birth of Christ. I find some problems with our Church's dogma at times - I was upset when the Holy Father went to Africa and spoke out against condom use, for example; Africa an HIV ravished continent did not need this papal advice.
But what you feel does not make you a hater, it just marks a different moral compass guides you. I think a major bone folks have to pick with you is at times you are perceived as to ignore that other people are guided by their own beliefs. Abortion is a perfect example - I hate abortion and I agree that it is an abomination in the eyes of God. But that's our God and not the God (if they have one) that guides others. I also look at the practical side of banning abortions - back alley abortions being one of its consequences.
So cut down, if you could, on these "Talking to a liberal is like talking to a young child" comments - there are many points of view and ours are as deeply held as yours. You know in your heart the intolerance goes both ways in this. I see plenty of absolutely evil, racist posts here from conservatives.

Maybe when Christians stop trying to rule this country, people will stop "bashing" you. You have your beliefs, no matter how absurd they are, and you are entitled to them. Other people have their beliefs as well. People just want equality.
There is supposes to be separation of church and state in this country. Either there is, or there isn't. If there is, then there should be no law stopping gay marriages, and those marriages carrying the same weight and afforded the same privileges as a heterosexual marriage. It is hypocritical and 2 faced to say it is okay for one group to have certain rights, yet another is denied because...wait for it....religious reasons.
This country is a joke. Say one thing, then do another.
We have to tolerate YOUR bad behavior. So what makes you any better than the rest of us? Because you believe is a myth, and cling to a book written by man?

Being intelligent, assuming you are, doesn't protect you from being ignorant, it just makes it all the more shameful when you are. If you want to examine deviant lifestyles, look to child molestation by ordained priest of the Catholic church. You ought to be ashamed to name yourself a Catholic and throw around the word deviant at others who aren't Catholic.
For Shame.

Do you accept that some people want to ride motorcycles everywhere instead of drive cars? Do you accept that some people want to grow vegetables or flowers instead of grass? Do you accept that some people want to keep horses or birds or pot-bellied pigs instead of something else? These things are also lifestyles that bring lots of negative attention onto their practicers.
You could just suffer in silence, or do you attempt to butt in where your nose doesn't belong? If the former, OK with me. If the latter, you need to get into a 12-step program where you can learn not to need to control other people's choices. You don't have to accept their choices, unless it is your child who is doing those things you abhor, but you would be wise to accept the choices your children make because they have their lives to live, and you cannot live their lives for them. Once again, I recommend a 12-step program where you can learn the difference.

i guess it's in the central idea about how christians supposed-to-be ruled or influenced the world in these past centuries. they influenced much of the past's thinking that it is being considered as a fundamental basis in each system, hence a type of conservativity. that's what i think.

Its not your right to tell people how they're suppose to live their life. their lifestyle does not affect you in any way. don't ask a question if you won't accept intelligent answers as such, regardless of personal beliefs.
you're wrong because you can't think of things as they are, you just believe what your religion tells you to. that's the problem. I was raised christian and at one point decided my mind belonged to me.
by the way, I don't go around bashing christians just because I'm not. the only time I say something is when they're overly judgmental and unjust people.
I've seen some of your answers and you are indeed a hateful person. deny it all you want, it doesn't change anything.

When you say "they are deviant and just plain wrong" I believe you cross the line of forcing your opinion as the only right opinion. If you want to have an opinion fine, but you can't tell anyone their opinion is wrong, that's what makes you wrong. By saying it's just plain wrong is telling someone else they are not right in their opinion. You can't do that. You can say It's not right for me, you can't say it's not right.

Well, you guys shoot doctors, bomb clinics, and then conspire to hide the perpetrators. THEN you want to call all muslims terrorists. You bully people, you snub them (even in your own churches) and you abhor lifestyles that it turns out many of you actually LIVE but the hypocrisy goes right over your heads. And what lifestyles do you hate? Gay marriage, the members of whom, besides loving each other, don't have to go and apologize to George Tiller's family because they didn't go to his church to kill him, like your christians did. If you were more tolerant (read: christian), you'd find others more willing to accept YOUR perverted lifestyle.

First, many liberals ARE Christians. It's okay to bash bigots, yes. "Alternative lifestyles" is an offensive term, there is nothing "alternative" about it.
Don't believe in abortion? Don't have one.
Believe in medieval standards of marriage? Fine, don't marry someone of the same sex.
You are not the standard for what is good and moral, and neither is anyone else. Leave others alone, and don't judge.
I think there was another guy with that same lesson about two thousand years ago, what was his name again? J-something... Jose? John? Jessy? Anyway, I remember reading something about it.

Most liberals I know are christian, and only bash phony christians who presume to have to the wisdom to judge the lifestyles of others.
