What is the best way for me to clean a vintage clutch purse with simulated pearls and sequins?

I found this amazing vintage clutch purse at a yard sale. It is in very good shape, but very dirty. The pearls look tan instead of white! I rubbed it gently and some of the dirt came off right away, so it appears to be surface dirt rather than the pearls and sequins turning color. Would it be ok to clean it with a soft, damp toothbrush? If not, what is the best way to clean it?

Store, and seal it in a large plastic tub of silica gel beads to remove any moisture that may be causing the dirt to adhere to the purse, and then after several days of it being sealed, blow the dirt away with a blow dryer on low heat, and at a low volume setting.
