My neocon neighbor keeps calling President Obama, "President Obumfvck" -- Can I sue him for being racist?

First, it's not against the law to be racist. It may be ignorant and stupid, buts it's not illegal.

Second, Obama is not too well liked among many people because of his policies and political agenda. This is not racism, it's ideology.

Third, just because someone doesn't like Obama, does not mean they are racist. after all, lots of black people didn't like Bush. Do you think they were all racists because they hated him?

Last, we do not (yet) live in a dictator ship where speaking your mind in public or private, since you say you overheard him from next door, is an offense. Be thankful for that, or next time you voice your dislike of a political candidate, it could be YOU who is sued or arrested.

Lets keep all of our rights, and not be so critical when someone else keeps and uses theirs.

You can't sue someone for being racist. However, if you are denied a job or some government service because of your race, then that is a different matter entirely, and you can sue for that.

That said, your "neocon neighbor" did not say anything racist in "disgracing President Obama's name." Disrespectful of the office of President? Yes. Racist? No way.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this time in all caps: YOU ARE NOT RACIST FOR DISAGREEING WITH OBAMA. Period.

NO you can't sue. You have not been damaged in any way. Well, you can sue, I mean any one can sue for any dumbass reason. But your case will be dismissed immediately as nothing but harassment.

It's not illegal to be unpatriotic, and he's not a racist just because he calls the President names. An imbecile, yes, but not necessarily racist.

Yes you should sue him. Then when the judge throws out your suit for lack of standing and failure to state a claim he will assess your neighbor's attorneys fees and court costs against you.
