Why is Obama looking into suing AZ over their new law?

When the AZ law is much less intrusive.

The AZ law requires that the police have a reasonable suspicion before stopping or questioning where as federal law upheld by an unanimous decision states that their has to be no reasonable suspicion or legal interaction between the suspect and Federal LEO to question a person about their immigration status.

Why isn't he looking into suing himself for the federal law in place?

The Supreme Court has already ruled that, under federal law, cops can pull you over for no reason and demand to see your immigration papers. Under Arizona's law, they need reasonable suspicion."

Update:

by the way K1surfer do you know thatunder federal law each green card holder is required to carry their proof of legal immigration on them at all times and agree to do so when they apply for a green card?

He's not. He's posturing to try to get Latino voters to vote Dem in November. Why else do you think he'd have gone through with the humiliating charade that was Felipe Calderon's recent, very ill-timed visit and stand there while some foreign leader berates the United States? The administration is SO interesting in suing that the Atty. Gen. hasn't even read the law! Look for this whole maelstrom to disappear shortly after the elections. Obama has deported more illegals than any previous president. He has also pretended to go after Sheriff Arpaio (who actually DOES engage in racial harassment), all the while making sure the status quo remains intact. Obama will sit back and let the states do his dirty work. Immigration is just a fun hot potato to toss around at election time.

Obama isn't looking into suing Arizona. The current cases being prepared are coming from the cities in Arizona because they are losing money. Their primary industry is tourism, and conventions are already being canceled. The mayor of Phoenix is working to prepare a lawsuit.

If anyone challenges the law at the federal level, it will be the department of justice, not Obama.

But there is a pretty good chance that the people of Arizona will act before the law even takes effect.

There is a big difference between federal law enforcement and state and local police. Not all cops are created equal.

I am not at all sure about your Supreme Court ruling. You gave no source.

BO nor his cabinet has even read the AZ law because, in my opinion, they don't want to be reminded that they need to refrain from knowing their own law because they don't want to enforce it.

No Taxation with Misrepresentation...long live the TEA PARTY movement so finally the real American citizens of our USA can lead our nation back into prosperity and decency. No more PC dictators. Liberty or death. To hell with health care. Don't sell and tax tobacco and tell buyers they can't smoke, chew, or sniff. Outlaw tobacco or SHUT UP. Don't protect workers from second hand smoke. Give them a choice of working in it or finding another business owner who chooses not to have smokers in their building. Legal smokers have rights too as long as government permits the sale of tobacco. Otherwise it is hypocritical. A right to smoke anywhere his employer is willing to allow him. I'm so sick of goody-two-shoes and girly-men both in government and on the street. Our nation is being turned into a nation of whiners and cry babies. Not many guys are real men anymore. How sad.
