I am a recent college grad and I am seeking multiple ways to make my job search successful. I use personal networking,university career services, and direct contact with companies/schools I am interesting in working for but I am looking for another way to get myself noticed.I am NOT a fan of resume blasting(blindly sending out my resume), I hate job fairs, and I find a lot of online employment websites such as hotjobs and monster to be pointless.I have not yet resorted to walking in and going from place to place beginning for a position yet but my search may become that desperate if I am not working soon. Any suggestions on how I can get myself considered for a position? I know the job search can be long and exhausting especially this time of the year when so many people are entering the workforce after college. I am seeking a teaching position if this helps with suggestions.

If it is a teaching position you want, then I do not think a site like LinkdIn is going to help much.  Rather than using Monster and such, try using your state employment office job search site; almost all states have gone the electronic search route now.  Also, get involved in a local community service.  In my state, every county has a Children's Policy Council and the school systems have representative at almost every meeting.  The meetings are open to anyone interested in helping to develop and implement programs to help children in the county.  Lastly, look for online forums that are geared toward teachers.  Those would be much better networking opportunities than something like LinkdIn (which is geared more toward the business community).

if u need to build u r contacts, internet is not the apt medium.... jus get out and start meetin people... check the opportunities..... and start calling and talkin to people...
