How is Obama not attending Memorial Day services at Arlington any different than Regan and George H. W. Bush n?

It is a sham story.

They mention he won't be at Arlington, then claim he is vacationing, then never mention that he'll be at another National cemetery that day. Then about ten answers will immediately claim that he hates the military.

All as if the dead vets in Illinois somehow are less deserving than Arlington. Might as well claim that Bush's trip to Normandy for one memorial day was him vacationing in France. As for the current wars, The Tomb of the Unknown soldier has little relevance, due to genetic testing, there are no more unknown soldiers.

Presidents always are at some cemetery for the day, that includes both Bushs & Reagan.

Now if you really want insulting, Reagan's honoring Nazi war Dead at Bitburg should still win. Oh wait it was only May 5th, so that must make it OK.

The truth is that no president has missed the Arlington ceremony on Memorial Day since 1992. That year, former President Bush attended a ceremony in Maine while campaigning for re-election. In 1992 our nation was not at war. President Bush was himself a decorated war hero in World War II, risking life and limb to complete bombing missions in the Pacific and losing crewmates in the battles. His commitment to honoring his brothers-in-arms was never in doubt. So comparing 1992 to 2010 is not exactly an apples to apples debate.

On the other hand, President Obama has demonstrated time and time again an unwillingness to fully support our troops whether through resources or through rhetoric. He gave a commencement address in 2008 with the theme of ’serving your country’ on that Memorial Day weekend, and did not mention serving in the military once. His proposed budgets reduce defense spending as a percentage of GDP to pre-9/11 levels. And this White House is uncomfortable even using the term ‘war on terror’ which is the cause that many of those who sacrificed their lives committed themselves to in the first place.

Bush in 1992 was on the campaign trail and attended a nearby memorial. He did not plan to go out of his way for 47 fallen soldiers.

Lincoln National cemetery is a 1000 acre VA cemetery with over a dozen war memorials and contains civil war soldier graves. The republicans are trying to exploit this for nothing more than political gain while driving american citizens into a frenzy with propaganda. This country is in shambles and our own politicians are doing it on purpose. A shame.

Obama is toast: Washington apparently has a clean capture 22 problem on its fingers, only interior 6 months after the recent administration got here to skill. obviously the business crew, even notwithstanding that they were given only about 18 months to study the nature of the present disaster (starting up contained in the summer season of 2007), incorrectly judged this recession to be of the placed up-conflict sort. Is that any marvel? no longer something contained in the commonplace public list because the year 2000 exhibits that Larry Summers, Ben Bernanke, or Tim Geithner understood that we were construction a skyscraper of deepest sector debt in textbook blow-off type, because the deflation scare of 2001. and...2010 Obama is going to Chicago for a vacation

Its not any different. I have mentioned this too in about 100 previous questions asked on here. But for some reason it was ok for them not to attend but not Onama. If he showed up they'd ***** about that too. Plus he is laying a wreath at Lincon memorial Cemetery but I guess all they see id him attending a concert and BBQ.
