What happened to Drill, Baby, Drill?

Haven't heard that tag line in a while... what happened to it? Did someone wake up and realize how its not really a viable solution?

Update:

the_sl4y - I don;t pay $6/gallon for nothing... I ride the subway homie!

Responsible urban planning is kind of the way to go. Good luck in your suburban sprawl.

No, it is just you are walking around with your head in the cranial-rectal inversion mode so you cannot see what a viable solution is. Also it is really funny that the first well under Barack Hussein Obama's new drilling policy has an explosion and sinks when the unit so suddenly that a large number of people can not get off in time. When was the last time this happened? Never

Oh I forgot the Democrats think we can power are vehicles with pixie dust... Of coarse drilling is the answer until a legit alternative fuel is ready. Or do you enjoy paying $6 a gallon? Remember Both Obama's admin and Bush's admin Okayed the lax oversight of the rig. So I wouldn't say the Dems are winning this one and Obama has been extremely slow and completely out of the picture in the cleanup! Incompetence and or neglect is not exactly the way to bash Republicans.

It's still there. We still need the oil. It won't come from planting daisies you know. Gotta drill.

Still, sure would have been nice if the environmentalists had let us drill on the surface in Alaska, or even close to shore, rather than way out there and having to drill a mile below the ocean's surface.

Sure would have been a lot easier to contain or plug any leak from a surface well or well close to shore.

Would be about the same as after the space shuttle disaster I sure there were some who said we don't belong in space man well only pollute it but most sane people know it was the thing to do

The people that demanded these platforms be placed far out to sea should have been told the farther out you go the deeper the water which makes it much harder to handle

I find it funny when the 'drill everywhere' crowd claims that we need to lower our dependence on foreign oil. They just refuse to understand that the oil companies will sell any oil drilled in America to the highest bidder on the world market. There is no guarantee that any domestically produced oil will actually be used here in the US.

Accidents happen sometimes. That can't be a basis for policy. So, yes, it still should be drill, baby, drill!

Well since BP decided to spill, baby, spill. The drilling will probably be delayed for a year or two.
