Relay for Life? If you've been in before, can you explain a little to me?

This is the first year our city has participated, so the details are sketchy to me. If you sign up for a team, are you signing up to stay all night? Do you (or someone else on your team) need to be on the track all night and all day? And you just keep walking/running for 24 hours?

    You raise money for cancer

You get to the site of the relay.

Your team sets up a tent usually

Your team needs atleast one person walking at all times

    there are partys

    there is dancing

there is a lap that is dedicated to each team

    There are scavenger hunts

There is a service to honor and commemorate all of the loved ones lost and all of them that survived

The track is outlined with luminaria and there is a lap in honor of them

there is a dj all night

I stayed up all night, but some people fell asleep by the fire

    It is really fun!

Yes, you are signing up to stay all night, but you are allowed to leave early.

Someone from your team is supposed to be on the track at all times, either walking or running (but no one really followed this rule)

It's very fun :) and it's for a great cause!
