Did you know the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Socialist?
Francis Bellamy was a Christian Socialist who wrote the U.S. Pledge of allegiance. The words, "Under God" were added during the McCarthy witch hunt days.
Bellamy originated incorporated the "Bellamy Salute" to the pledge, which is very similar to the Nazi salute. Check out the photos:

Makes sense. We didn't have an anthem or pledge until around the thirties. Besides, why should we have to pledge our allegiance? I like living here, but it is no good to have us pledging like Nazis to a flag of freedom

Your question does not make sense. Why would a socialist/leftist write a pledge of allegiance to a country they all hate like the USA?

I fail to see any significance in that capitalism was formed by many who had been socialists on your salute the English military salute is closer than the american military salute developed during the big shakeup in the U.S. military when the army air force was formed into the u.s. Air Force the u.s.military salute is very crisp and regimented to set it apart from others, what significance do you place on the salute appearing to mimic a nazis motion, having saluted many officers and having been saluted by many lower ranks in my final years of a 30 yr. career in the u.s. coastguard i honestly don't see any resemblance, when it is your turn to serve your country and learn a proper salute you will see my point

I do now. Does anyone even say the pledge of allegiance anymore? It is sort of a relic from the days when you could pick out traitors by whether or not they pledged allegiance.

Always though it was a bit fascist. Then McCarthy went and 'made it so'.
Oh Ashley! Get a life.

Yes, I already knew all that. Quite a bit of irony, don't you think?
