Why did he contact me?

Here's the situation:I broke up with this man Sept.2008 after a relationship that seemed to be filled with struggle.Last summer(2009)he contacted me,telling me he missed me,wanted to get back together.I told him to get lost.
That was the last I heard from him..until last night.Out of the blue he sent me an sms,saying he still missed me,asking me to forgive him,so we could maybe start over.I told him that I had moved on,suggested he'd do the same and leave me alone.After that his message changed,first he said ''the relation never meant as much to me as it did to him'' and when that didn't work he became spite-full,telling me our relationship could never have worked out because he was in love with his ex back then(I knew that,that's why we broke up)and now they were married and were pregnant with their first child.
Even though I didn't show him any emotion(acted like I couldn't care less),I feel really pissed off and confused right now.Why did he contact me in the first place...was it just to make me feel bad ore what?Do any of you have any idea why?I could really use some thoughts about this,to help me understand....thanx all!

Get a new number and don't tell him. A man is after anything he can get. He will use every trick in the book. He has a child with someone else. It's everything you need to know. Though if you insist in knowing more,it's to mess with your mind use smooth words and blatent lies to get S**. You have been doing the right thing so far.Just get that new number and seal the deal. Don't feel bad about yourself either. He is the idiot.

firstly you have to confirm why he leave you before
if its a geniune reason to leave you, and you think so the mistake of leaving you is minor then its good
and if he left yo for his other girl 
and also married and child
then he is making you a fool and just time pass with you
he will just tease you by saying miss you
but infact,
if he miss you realy then he had do something for you
and if it is only in words
then you have to cut off all the conaction goes to him and also don,t think about him any word
or any act
and see the future
because future is mystry
no body knows hope for the best
