Could a unmarried man or woman be elected president of the USA?

I know it's possible, and that we've had an unmarried president elected in the past, but it sure would be hard to make those "family styled" commercials without a spouse, wouldn't it?

there is no constitutional requirement that they be married and if a single person ran for office i am sure they'd find something else to focus on in the commercials.

Yes these days the public sees an unmarried man as a failure in some way because of all the freaks out there.I think it was Taft that was not married but not sure.

i think of its as a results of fact it supplies the final public the theory that as a results of fact a candidate is a married individual could be greater settled and mature adequate for the interest. yet i could vote for a single individual if i presumed they have been the final individual for the interest. If John Edwards gets elected.....we could finally end up with a single individual as president.

The Republican attack ads are predictable, given most Republican responses to Elena Kagan.

You'd need a good tear in the corner of the eye story about a dead spouse and a couple of cute kids to pull it off.

Hillary should have tried that! She might had gone on to win the Democrat nomination.

I would vote for an unmarried candidate if I thought he/she were the better choice.

A ham sandwich could be elected president. Voters are not really bright.

Look if the dems ran Daffy Duck as a gay quacker', the Lemmings would vote for him.
