circumcision... pros and cons..to cut or not to cut?
Im having a baby in a few weeks and been researching this has anyone done it then regretted it or not done it and regretted it ... any pros and cons would be great. Any input from men is also good... i like to know how they feel about their parents decision now that they are adults.
my husband isnt circumcised he doesnt care either way. How he looks doesnt bother him but i was kinda thinking the same thing about looking "different" than the other boys when he becomes school age. also cleanliness hygiene etc..

The pros and cons are oppinion only, not facts. Every man will have a different list than another. This is why it is so important for the man to chose for himself when he is an adult. Because what you might see as a pro, he sees as a con and lets face it, his oppinion is the one that matters since it's his body. He has to live with this choice forever, he should be the one to make it. Unless there is a severe medical problem at the time, there is no reason to do it.
I will always resent my parents for circumcising me. They had no right to surgically alter mybody without my permission. It's my penis, not theirs. I have no idea why anyone would think a man would actually want to be altered in the area that makes him a man, but I think that's why it's such a delicate issue. Cutting up a childs genitals is extreme, no matter how you look at it, good or bad. It is extreme and it's taboo to most every other country in the world. So it can be a difficult topic for a lot of men.
Circumcision has no medical benifit. Come on people we have soap and water in this country and men aren't too stupid to use them. We are more than capable. The foreskin takes 10 seconds to clean and it's just as healthy as any circumcised penis. The whole it's cleaner and prevents infections thing is blown way out of proportion. I restored my foreskin last year after a year and a half of hard work. Trust me there is very little difference is any cleanliness wise.
Circumcision actually does a lot of nerve and vascular damage to the penis reducing sensitivity for the male and greatly increasing the chances of premature sexual dysfuntion. After I restored my foreskin my sensitivity doubled, orgasms got much longer and much more intense, sex and evrything sexual became a million times more enjoyable and I can't even get back 100% of what I lost. So that shows how much the procedure takes away from a man. I didn't appreciate my parents taking that away from me to save all of 5 seconds in the shower. That's my decision to make, not theirs.
The circumcision rate in the US right now for infant males is 50%. The rates continue to lower every year because more and more parents are realising the damage that circumcision does and the fact that it has no benifit. Your son if anything when left intact will be in the majority by the time he's school aged. Plus who really cares? everyone is going to be made fun of for something in their life, but we don't give our kids surgery so that they won't be teased. It's 4 years of their life that they might be teased at, that is so tiny compared to the rest of their life where it's not going to matter.

Source(s): Ask this in Men's Health as well you will get much better answers from males who have first hand exsperience in the area. Here you will get a lot of women saying "it's better in the long run" (Sorry but how would you know?) - Anonymous5 years ago
Well you'd need to sharpen your kitchen knife on a spinning, metallic, steel. But you may not have that, so I know you can't get the blades out, but why not shave off your skin, shave vigorously until you shave off layers of skin, this will give larger scars and quantity of blood. If you want to know a place that will bleed the most it would probably be the part of your arm beneath your palm of your hand, where the veins and most pronounced. Try injections, they are very sharp and don't hurt as much, but when you inject your self, quickly puncture it through your skin, this will give a larger wound and more bleeding, it would also be deeper, but not very wide, so do this several times. The more times you do it the better because each time the sharpness of the needle will become blunt, thus giving larger injuries.

I was circumcised at 18 and can assure you being circumcised is far superior to be uncut! There is no loss of sensitivity and it is not mutilation. Circumcision actually improves sexual function. An uncut guy is basically just masturbating inside his partner, while a circumcised guy gives and receives direct pleasure from his partner.
Being circumcised is also much cleaner, I could careless what the antis say, but uncut guys can wash 3x a day and still have an odor. It is also much healthier to be circumcised, uncircumcised males have a 60% higher chance of acquiring HIV and STDs through heterosexual intercourse. It also looks much better, an anteater is not pleasant to the eye!
Being circumcised is so far superior that I had no hesitation to have my 3 boys (5,3,1) circumcised, as I know that there is no downside, only a lifetime of benefits.
A foreskin is just nasty and disgusting!
Take a look at this video, where the very hot Olivia Munn talks about how gross
uncircumcised penises are:

Don't do it. If he wants to be circumcised he can get the operation done when he's 18 or older.
And to be quite frank, it's very difficult to argue against FGM when boys are being snipped. That is, the fact that boys get circumcised is actually used as an argument for the same thing being done to girls, despite the very different consequences. Let's put an end to maiming children!

I had my son circumcised, I think it is a hygiene issue. My man is not circumcised and it can get smelly under there just a few hours after having a shower. I am pregnant now and if it is a boy, we will definitely have him circumcised.

I wouldn't. My boyfriend isn't circumcised and it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. America a is one of the only countries to do this, anyway. What's the point, anyway?

I think you should do it. It's definitley better in the long run. The worst part is the week or so after the circumcision is done you have to see the baby cry everytime he pees, which is terrible to see but it's all better before you know it.

Your husband might not care how he looks, but I do know someone who said it really affected him.
I know how you must feel, I thought I was going to scar my son in some deeply repressed way that other men might be scarred and not even know it.
I had my son circumcised at the insistence of my friends and family and it nearly gave me anxiety attacks, but my son SLEPT THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROCESS! Now, I really don't regret it at all. I was amazed!

What i was told from my prenatal nurse was if the dad isn't circumcised it's better not too so he could be like dad. I've also been told boy being circumcised are rebels and supposedly they like to play with it as pulling. Same as girls once they start potty they seem to be playing down there. Idk these were words from a teacher you have had lots of experience in kids. Good luck

Well for me I'm definitely going to get my son circumcised. I don't want the poor kid to feel completely different and weird from his peers when he's older. OR to have girls shun him and act like he's a freak down there when he's an adult.
