I think gay marriage should be legalized. I think that gay people should be able to marry just like straights do because the partners want to provide for each other and get appropriate tax breaks. It is not easy to live gay, and it is hard to make a relationship work. Lots of people will point to the ups and downs of gay relationships, but young married straits fight and divorce quickly too. I think that if two guys are in love they should have the option of solidifying their commitment and obtaining tax breaks, survivor benefits, insurance benefits and other breaks normally reserved for married people. If they do this with a domestic partnership that is fine with me, I just think the vehicle needs to be there for us as well as them.

As a gay male, I don't mind either way, I personally think it gives us something worth fighting for.
