Should I get a Macbook or Macbook pro?
I need 4 GB of RAM, so I can't decide whether to get the Macbook and add two GB of RAM, or to just get the Macbook Pro. With the education discount, the Macbook would be 1029 and the Pro would be 1099. Is it worth the 60 dollars for a more durable frame, a firewire port, and an SD card slot?

It sure is worth it to get the Macbook Pro, in my opinion.
If it is really only a 60$ difference, then go for it. Its better then buying the cheaper one, then realizing two months from now you might need a feature that small difference could have gotten you.
Also, you said is it worth it for a durable frame? For computers anything more durable IS worth it.

yes it is much better to get the macbook pro because of the durable frame it will be much stronger and the sd card reader is very helpful just for 60 bucks deffinatly worth it

The only person that can answer the "is it worth it" question is you. Personally I see no need for firewire, I don't tend to drop my laptop, and I don't generally use SD cards as a means of storage so for me it would not be worth it.
