GO HAWKS/FALCONS!!!!

  • If there is a rematch, who plays the Sugar Bowl?

What SEC team would play in the Sugar Bowl? If UGA beats Auburn, then they'll be 6-2 in SEC play, so I guess it'd be them, which seems undeserving. But if Auburn wins against UGA, South Carolina loses in the SEC Championship, Arkansas loses to LSU, and Arkansas and UGA win all the other games they have left, then Arkansas and UGA would both have a 5-2 SEC record and a 10-2 overall. Who would play in the Sugar Bowl?

  • Why is this not a fumble?

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d823db9ff/art...

Number 2, from the Falcons-Colts game. Painter throws it, the ball gets deflected back to him and then he throws it again. I know he got penalized for an illegal forward pass. But other than that, it's a normal reception. If a receiver were to catch a ball and then lateral it forward, he would be penalized, but the play would run to completion, not be called an incomplete pass, right?

  • Can anyone explain this angular momentum problem?

It was on a test, and I want to know if I got it right.

A man of mass m is initially standing on a solid disk, a distance R from the center of the disk (which has radius R). When he's standing there, the disk has angular velocity omega initial. He then walks in to a distance of R/3 from the center. What is the final angular velocity of the disk?

Moment of inertia for a solid disk is (1/2)MR^2.

  • If I were to go to the Seahawks game on Saturday?

And I wanted to make a sign, as a Seahawks fan, what would be a good and clever one? The game will be aired on NBC, if you want to make some acronyms or something.

    Never

    Back down,

    Carroll

was the only one I could think of.

  • Why do people assume the worst?

Sure, the details around Cam Newton seem fishy, but can anyone truly prove that he was aware of his father's action? If so, please fill me in.

He was in possession of a stolen laptop, yes. He has spoken publicly about his mistake, and this has been expunged from his record.

Reports of cheating - but no proof, since it is illegal, I am aware of that. Are you completely sure that he cheated? If so, fill me in again.

Kicked out of Florida - no. He transferred so he could play as a starter, as he, his lawyer, and Urban Meyer have all stated.

What happened to the American ideal of innocent until proven guilty?

Also, as a disclaimer, I am not saying he is innocent or guilty, my point is that he does not deserve all the scrutiny that he is being given without proper evidence.

  • Did it seem to anyone else that Fairley was blocked into Aaron Murray?

Or was that just me? Even the commentators said that it didn't look like a flag should have been thrown.

  • Can someone help me show these two linear algebra problems?

    I really don't understand this stuff :(

But I'll actually choose a best answer!

    Two linear algebra problems:

    1. Let A and B be any two matrices such that the product AB is defined. Show that Ker(B) is a subset of Ker(AB).

    2. Let A and B be any two matrices such that the product AB is defined. Suppose that Ker(A) = 0. Show that in this case Ker(B) = Ker(AB).

    Thanks in advance! :)

  • How can I find p in this equation?

Here's the problem: Find the values of p for which the infinite sum of (ln k)/(k^p) converges.

I feel like I'm making it harder than it is. But it's looking for constants, and I've gotten p > [ln(k*lnk)]/(lnk) ... which is not a constant, and I think it definitely wrong. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • Should I get a Macbook or Macbook pro?

I need 4 GB of RAM, so I can't decide whether to get the Macbook and add two GB of RAM, or to just get the Macbook Pro. With the education discount, the Macbook would be 1029 and the Pro would be 1099. Is it worth the 60 dollars for a more durable frame, a firewire port, and an SD card slot?

  • Why are people predicting LSU to move up in the rankings?

If they needed a goal line stand to beat Mississippi State, a team that got beaten by Auburn 45-24.. Should Auburn be ranked then?

  • How do I do this question?

A skier is gliding along at 5.0 m/s on horizontal, frictionless snow. He suddenly starts down a 12° incline. His speed at the bottom is 15 m/s.

    (a) What is the length of the incline in meters?

    (b) How long does it take him to reach the bottom in seconds?

  • How many of you people that are against Vick coming back eat meat?

Ever wonder how that stuff is slaughtered? Don't say it's different, because he did it with dogs. It's still an animal.

  • How do Falcons fans feel about Vick being signed?

I, for one, am a lot more excited about the Eagles game in December than I was before ;)

  • So if Vick has a good season...?

He doesn't have to be a starter to have a good season. As Andy Reid says, "We didn't bring him in to sit on the bench."

  • How can anyone hate Roger Federer?

I'm not one of those stupid fans, don't worry. I get how someone can hate Nadal because of his odd style of play, his loud grunts, weird clothing, or even how he looks. But not all Nadal haters are Federer fans. So I think the only reason that people hate Federer is because they like Nadal. Correct?
