why is homosexuality a sin according to the bible?

There are those who like to say that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. Various verses are cited (out of context) and the verses that people use to show that homosexuality is wrong are explained away. The world wants to change God's words and meanings into something more suitable to its sinful desires. Nevertheless, the truth stands: The Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says.

* Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."1

* Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"

* 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

* Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God. He created Adam and then made a woman. This is what God has ordained and it is what is right. Unlike other sins, homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: They are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins (Romans 1:18ff). As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance and trusting in Jesus. Without Jesus, they will have no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation.

NOWHERE in the Bible does it read that God said that homosexuality is a sin…NOWHERE!

GOD did NOT say that a man lying with mankind as with womankind, i.e. a man having sex with another man, is a sin; the holier-than-thou people say that.

The Bible uses the word ‘abomination”.

Before they change the meaning of that word too, look up the definition of that word ‘abomination’.

The Bible in Leviticus 18:22 reads: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Years ago, when I first read that verse in the King James Version of the Bible, BEFORE the so-called scholars started changing the translation and meaning of controversial passages by using THEIR translation of some words and re-writing the verse(s) and altering the meaning to make it mean what THEY want the passage to mean,

I remember that veerse as being: Thou shall not lie down with a man as you would a woman for it is an abomination unto the Lord.

Notice how the modern translations don’t have “UNTO THE LORD” in them.

Reading that verse in the way I typed it implies that God didn’t say that verse at all; someone else did.

Either way, it is not called a sin; it is called an ABOMINATION; something despised or hated by either God or the man that wrote it.

If you can find a copy of the original KJV Bible that was in circulation to the public, please let me know.

There are several passages in my memory that don’t jibe

with these modern translations of the KJV Bible.

EDIT: If and or when you have the opportunity to speak with God, GOD will let you know if the act of homosexuality was worse than other sex acts outside of marriage.

Sex acts outside of marriage is not limited to heterosexuals; Homosexuals and Lesbians can commit adultery and other sex acts outside of marriage too.

Only GOD can make the decision as to which sex act outside of marriage, if any, is worse than the other.

Because it considers the passive recipients of anal sex, including the victims of anal rape, even if they are children, as dirty and having the guilt of the act transferred onto them. I've studied this for a long time and this is the only scripturally valid conclusion i can come to. In other words, startling and repugnant conclusion though this may be, the Bible is specifically condemning the VICTIMS of child abuse to Hell because of their victimhood. You can try to dress this up in something pretty to make it seem OK, but it's not, is it?

The practice of homosexuality is destructive to the human soul. God makes it clear that homosexuality is a sin (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Jude 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:10; Revelation 21:8). Supporting gay marriage is a sin because it means to support homosexuality and the perversion of Holy Matrimony. If a nation legalizes gay marriage, that nation will be cursed.

Homosexuality is caused by iniquity. Iniquities (tendencies that cause one to sin) pass down the generation line (Numbers 14:18). When one accepts Lord Jesus as their Saviour, God forgives their sins and removes their iniquities (evil tendencies) in the subsequent transformation process which makes one more and more like Christ.

After genuinely accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, ALL sinners (those who practice homosexuality, alcoholics, liars, drug addicts, fornicators etc.) will be saved and transformed. Each believer is cleansed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and receives the infilling of the Holy Spirit who renews them.

REDEMPTION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

Because mankind is incapable of meeting God’s standard of perfection necessary to abide in God’s presence (Romans 3:19-20,23), God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the total debt for the believer’s sins and mercifully credits to his account Christ’s righteousness (Romans 3:21-28,5:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21). Jesus’ gracious act of atonement was complete and covers all sin (Colossians 2:13-14; 1 John 1:9). Salvation is not based on good deeds but according to the mercy of God (Titus 3:4-5). Believers are justified by faith; it is a gift by God’s grace (Romans 4:3-8; Ephesians 2:8-9). A true, living faith will result in a desire to live a holy, loving life of good works (Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26), but failure to be absolutely successful at righteous living does not negate the believer’s justified status.

If you sincerely say this prayer, your sins will be washed away, you will be redeemed to God, be saved from eternal torment and inherit the Kingdom of God:

Such, behaviour is a departure from God's expressed order.

Because it's both unnatural and unhealthy. God wants people to live long, healthy lives and homosexuals lives are at least 20 years shorter than the average male, due to their lifestyle choices.
