How do you ask your IP address?
How do I mask my IP address so my ISP can't tell who I am. Say I wanted to download something without my ISP knowing. Say I wanted to use a bittorent and didn't want my internet connection disconnected for said download. Also I have a router not sure if this matters or if there is something I can do with it to accomplish this.

You can't. Your ISP not only assigns your IP address to you, but HAS to know what it is in order to communicate with you -- which means allowing you to use the Internet. Change your IP address and it won't even recognize you.

Your ISP is always going to tell who you are.
The only way they can't see exactly what you're transferring is if you're using some type of encryption (SSL, SSH, VPN). It's still going to count as traffic, though.
