how do I get my 2 year old to sleep?

she hasn't fallen asleep before 945 for the last 2 weeks even though I put her in bed at 8 pm. I keep putting her back to bed, I have rocked her, ignored her etc. I am stumped. I think she is still too little to cut out her nap but I have no idea how to get her to sleep at night

If she cannot fall asleep before 9:45 when putting her to bed at 8:00, try putting her to bed earlier. Also, if you don't want to cut out her nap time, wear her out as much as possible during the day. I work at a daycare and in order to wear the kids out before nap time, we make sure that they stay as busy as possible. If we're outside, we make them play and run around the entire time. If we're inside, we have them run circles around the classroom and "exercising" before cleaning up. Don't do it RIGHT before putting her to bed though, that may only end up winding her up even more. Do it an hour or so before bed.

Also, continue ignoring her. The more you pay attention to her, the more she'll call out for you. She will eventually realize that it is bed time and that is final.

what time does she wake up in the morning? my son wakes normally at about 9:15am. If he has a nap (usually 1.5 hours) he won't go to bed till 10 or 10:30. For the past few weeks on days he doesn't seem too tired in the afternoon I have been keeping him up, and it works brilliantly - goes to bed at 8pm so easily, it's great. I do still let him nap when I think he needs it otherwise he gets so cranky from 6-8. My other option is waking him up earlier... like at 7 or 8am, he'd nap earlier, and go to bed earlier (but not as easy as he does with no nap).

So your answer is either wake her up earlier in the morning, cut nap time shorter (wake her up after an hour or 1.5 hours), oor cut naps entirely. Whatever works for her.

to every their possess. There isn't any correct or unsuitable do what works for you. Ifyou absolutly don't have her to your mattress then sure your doing the correct factor. If your open to her there each and every as soon as and awhile then it is not going to harm her otherwise you. JUst do not permit it get to be a dependancy. In my residence now we have a household mattress. Me, my husband and a couple of hour a night time my five month historic. My 21 month historic is in poor health correct now so she will get up and involves our mattress too. I simply permit her keep. She does not soak up a lot house and it makes her consider higher. When she's now not in poor health many times she attempts to return to our mattress & i will permit her however after 20 mins shes out and a convey her again to her mattress. You make the decision your the mother or father

simple. keep her awake all day long. no naps so when bedtime arrives, she'll be exhausted. and if she's not the type to nap during the day, then let her burn all of her energy during the day. let her run, jump, play.
