Anyone have an opinion about the Arlington Cemetery debacle?

I'm an Illinois Dem. I support Democrats in general. I believe that the Arlington National Cemetery debacle crosses party lines. How many of you are disgusted by how our fallen comrades/heroes have been dissed?

Sweet Jesus, it is my hope that we will see posts that are not politically motivated and offer appropriate critique of how Arlington National Cemetery has been managed.

This is not a political issue. This is an issue of respect for the sanctity of those who gave their lives in order that the rest of us might live in peace.

It's only a political issue in that the right wing radio big mouths are bending over backwards trying to blame this on the Obama administration, and lying through their teeth in the process. The worst offender is Savage.

Regardless of party, the current secretary of the army ordered an investigation a month after taking office, into a situation that has been going on for years. The issue is being address the way it should have a long time ago, beginning with relieving the superintendent of Arlington of his duties.

It is sad that they lost 100% accountability on those 211 buried servicemen. However, given the fact that there are roughly 300,000+ veterans interred at Arlington it's rather shocking that the number of mis-managed graves is that small. We're all only human and the exposure of this mistake should help keep records far more accurate from here on out (one would think) benefiting many in the long run.

Government at work is how I see it. And there are people who actually want government to run healthcare. Something that has so many moving parts that it would be impossible for an entity like government . a cunmbersomse and slow moving agency could ever run effectively.

I'm not sure why you felt the need to mention your political beliefs?

I'm doubly glad that we didn't bury my dad at Arlington when he passed and I'm sure as hell not going to be buried there.

You're the one that brought politics into it.
