What is it that the Republican party offers to working people?
I am a primary healthcare provider who daily sees those who are down on their luck through no fault of their own. I would like for my question to address what it is that the Republican party offers to other than wedge issue voters?
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs it appropriate for American politicians to apologize to BP because BP has been required to have an escrow?
Rep Barton apologized to BP, calling Pres. Obama's requirement of the 20billion dollar escrow account a "shakedown". At the behest of his Republican leadership, he later rescinded this and apologized for his apology to BP.
Today, Rush Limbaugh supported Barton. He referred to Pres. Obama's requirement of the 20
Billion dollar escrow account as organized crime "protection money".
My bias is to say good on Pres. Obama for getting an initial 20 Billion out of BP with no cap on future liabilities. My further bias is that it was appropriate for Barton to apologize for apologizing to BP. After all, BP caused our current catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico.
My further bias is that Rush Limbaugh is a false prophet. He will never bring himself to acknowledging any smidgen of good emanating from a Dem administration, especially an african american Dem administration.
I invite low information Bubbas to flame on about my question and detail. I also invite all of the Bubbas to use their beautiful minds, evaluate the facts and reach logical conclusions about who is most representing their interests. I can state factually that the Republican party is no friend of working people. The Democratic party is far from perfect, but it is much more in line with the interests of working people.
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoAnyone have an opinion about the Arlington Cemetery debacle?
I'm an Illinois Dem. I support Democrats in general. I believe that the Arlington National Cemetery debacle crosses party lines. How many of you are disgusted by how our fallen comrades/heroes have been dissed?
Sweet Jesus, it is my hope that we will see posts that are not politically motivated and offer appropriate critique of how Arlington National Cemetery has been managed.
This is not a political issue. This is an issue of respect for the sanctity of those who gave their lives in order that the rest of us might live in peace.
9 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWhatever happened to drill baby drill?
A strange silence emenates from those who were so rabid to drill in the ocean for oil. I don't have a horse in the race. I believe that both political parties in our country are barking up the wrong tree, but I am perplexed and dissappointed in the hate that comes from uninformed citizens.
You just can't cure stupid. To continue to desecrate our planet for short term gain is simply stupid.
I can't wait for the stupid and uninformed to respond to my question.
p.s. Palin is 100 times more stupid than is Dubya.
8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoDo you believe that the poor without health insurance should be allowed to simply suffer and die?
I personally believe in healthcare for all, but I am interested in hearing from those who believe that those without health insurance should just be gone to suffer and die.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDem or Repub, is it possible for us to wish each other a Merry Christmas?
I fervently hope so. May I start.

1 AnswerPolitics1 decade agoWhy do the majority of Americans like the job that Pres. Obama has done so far?
Virtually every poll that I have reviewed show a positive perception by the public in terms of President Obama's actions to date.
Do you believe that the American public is correct in their assessment or do you feel that the American public is wrong?
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWould the Republican party benefit by divorcing themselves from hate merchants such as Rush Limbough?
Hate, lie and sleaze merchants such as Limbough and Hannity have disseminated lies and untruths for quite awhile now. Now that the American people are no longer buying their tripe, should the Republican party divorce itself from them?
19 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy did Sen. Palin approve...actually cheer for...exporting LNG to Japan rather than keep it in our country?

Palin backs shipping Alaskan LNG to Japan
"When we talk about energy, we have to consider the need to do all that we can to allow this nation to become energy-independent," Palin said earlier this month during the vice presidential debate. "It's a nonsensical position that we are in when we have domestic supplies of energy all over this great land. And East Coast politicians who don't allow energy-producing states like Alaska to produce these, to tap into them, and instead we're relying on foreign countries to produce for us."
This summer, Palin cheered the Energy Department for extending an export license for the Kenai Liquefied Natural Gas facility. The license allowed the Alaska plant to continue shipping its products to Asia through 2011.
So while the United States imported 771 billion cubic feet of natural gas last year from Trinidad and Tobago, Algeria, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and Qatar, Alaska is expected to export 100 billion cubic feet to Asia over the next two years.
WTF??????
5 AnswersElections1 decade agoMcCain voted with Bush over 90% of the time. Would he represent change?
Sen. McCain voted with Bush policy over 90% of the time from 2004 to present. His percentage was even higher in voting with Bush policy from 2000 to 2004. Would he really represent change from current failed Bush policies were he to be elected President?
33 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhat's up with Pres. Bush and his Admin seeking "general time horizons" for troop withdrawals from Iraq?
Flip flop in my opinion.
WTF???? Wasn't our Administration against any form of time line?
They have beat the crap out of the Dems for this. Was all of the chest thumping and beating simply political posturing. I thought our Pres had a pair.
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoSen. McCain voted over 95% of the time to support Pres. Bush's policies. Does he deserve the title "McSame"?
I personally believe that he does.
24 AnswersElections1 decade agoWill it matter to you if people suffer economically as a result of high gas prices and bad home loans?
I wonder, assumming that you are well-off and comfortable as am I, if you will feel any compassion or desire to help those who are less fortunate than you are.
This is shaping up to be a lulu of a recession. I'm afraid to utter the D word, but D is certainly a distinct possibility.
The ultimate question that people are going to be asking themselves in November is "am I better off now than I was 8 years ago?"
Wanna buy an apple, mister?
17 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAre you better off now than you were 8 years ago?
I am, but i suspect that I am in a minority. Give me Hell and let me know. Better off or worse off?
63 AnswersElections1 decade agoWas Sen. McCain justified in divorcing his first wife when she was terminally ill?
McCain was 42 years old when he started his affair while married to his terminally ill wife. He blames this indiscretion upon "immaturity". Was this immaturity excuse...at 42, my God when did this azzhole reach maturity?...reasonable?
