Yes I am but it's in spite of Bush and his posse. In the long run I won't be if this country gets any weaker.

yes. Much better off.
Of course 8 years ago, I was just out of college and could barely survive from paycheck to paycheck.
I have a good paying job (6 digit salary), a decent house, mortgage I can afford, great credit score, and a decent savings and investment portfolio (I might be down 15% this year but overall still up 10% per year from 5 years ago).
I attribute all these to personal accountability though. My view of the government's role is to ensure that they:
- curb inflation by ensuring we don't print more money than we have to
- control the tax - make sure that our companies can stay competitive in the global climate
That's all. Everything else is up to the individuals.

I am, but it is because it is for personal actions: I divorced my pothead husband.
As for professionally, 8 years ago I was in a stable, nearby job with health benefits. Now I am a contractor hopping from job to job, pay through the nose for my family health plan, and drive an hour each way.
So better *and* worse off.

Yes I am better off as I have two homes. One in the US and one in the Philippines.
My wife and I are retired and tomorrow is our 23 wedding
anniversary. But I am pre baby boomer and now the Baby
Boomers are retiring so it will be interesting to see the
new generation pick up the tab on 80 million people on the
Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid.

I'm worse off and so is everyone else, whether they know it or not. The planet is being killed, by the oil industry but even after 90% of it is dead and the handful of surviving humans are forced to live in Antarctica there will still be Rush Limbaugh fans who say everything's just fine and liberals are a bunch of whiners.

Yes, I am. 8 Raises, 2 promotions, and an MBA.
My wife, and kids are doing well too. Her career is doing great, in Real Estate no less. Hard work pays well if you know what you're doing.
The kids are both away at college, working PT and passing their classes. They've got their hands full too.
We don't have as much money to waste on ourselves now with two college tuitions, but the money's going to a good cause. It's not going to be forever (they promise), and all our monthly bills are covered.
Thanks for asking.

Yes, because I found my partner, and we have a happy family. Also, I'm pursuing my dreams and going back to school this fall. Financially, I'm only a little better b/c of rising costs and education costs, but generally, I'm tons better.
