faucet spray plumbing question?

I bought a new faucet http://www.pricepfister.com/trade/kitchen/Product/... Our plumber came and he said these kinds are prone to leak to the cabinet by water dripping down the hose of the spray when used. Is there a solution for this because I would like this faucet in my kitchen.

Update:

ok say I was using it then I put it back in the dock, theres a hole in the dock for the hose to go through. He says if the hose or spray ever gets wet the water would go through the hole because theres space between the hose and the dock. What can I do to eliminate that gap because the hose doesnt fit the hole perfectly.

I have never seen one that fits perfectly tight, I think thats just part of the deal if you want a sprayer on the faucet. If it really worries you, you could grab the sprayer with a dry dishcloth while you're using it, and drips headed down the flex tube would get absorbed by the dishcloth. I have to admit, I use my sprayer all of the time, and never think anything about it.

Did your plumber suggest one that he happens to sell? I've never had a problem with any including the very cheap ones. How much water could be on the hose when you you're done using it? Use, enjoy, and forget about it.

guess he's not a very good plumber if he can't install it without it dripping...I install them from time to time and I never had a problem....use some plumbers tape on the threads to be sure of no drips

look at the picture...there is a 1 inch lip on the sprayer holder, u would have to flood the counter top in order for water to get into it, use calking on the counter tip before intstalling the faucet...I've had those types of faucets before and nerver had a problem, I have replaced old faucets of thoese type and never seen any water damage around the sprayer, just make sure everything is tight and caulked

yes always keep the sprayer lower than the hose and the water won't go down the hose.wipe off the hose before you dock the sprayer
