Democrats and Republicans should our top General in Afghanistan be relieved of his post?

for speaking the truth as he knows it? Were not, after war world two, German Generals prosecuted for going along with Hitler's flow/ideology? Doesn't the good general have an obligation to the American public to expose incompetence? After all the general is the expert on such matters.

Update:

We certainly think officers on that BP oil rig that didn't report safety concerns because they didn't want to make waves should be proscuted

He is being brought before the president for some ill spoken words. The words did not put our country in peril. He is a bright man that has taken all his efforts to fight the war and has fought for freedom and protecting our country. The playing field just not seem level in this circumstance. He needs to get back to his job. May God bless him for what he has accomplished.

You know, I don't know, and I don't care, and I don't know why everyone else seems to now pretend they are an expert on these matters.

The only thing that we really know is how the war is going, and that Obama is in charge. Let the president conduct the war with whom he wants - who cares?

He will be responsible if the war goes good or ill.

  • He broke military law. He knew that he was breaking the law and as such he should face Court Marshall and answer the charges of Insubordination, Conduct Unbecoming of an Officer and other possible charges.

Do you know that $9 billion is being spent a month in Afghanistan?

McChrystal was given free rein to made decisions concerning the war.

He pushed for and got the troops he said he needed. Guess what? It was reported today that the surge is not working.

So his comments aside, it's time for new leadership on the battlefield.

Think of it like a business.

The factory manager speaks out against the CEO in an interview.

Would the CEO keep the guy?

We have civilian control of the military. A general does *not* go outside of the chain of command with his political opinions. If he wants to enter politics, he resigns his commission and expresses his views as a private citizen.

Who would he be replaced with? 0bama doesn't like any of them.

This administration has a solid history of removing people who are highly qualified in their fields, and replacing them with ideologically pure political hacks. This won't be any different.
