My '95 Pontiac Grand Am has 213,2XX Miles, Is that good? ( Plus More Q's )?
I am just wondering a few things about it, I have the V6 engine that runs beatuifully I love how fast it can start off at.. Not like over V4 and L4 engines I have drove.. I am just curious if that many miles is good for it still having no problems at all. It was rear-ended once but thats it.. I have changed the tires one time and the engine has really never had work done to it, so is that a good sign?
Also I am looking to buy a newer '09 Pontiac G5 GT and I am wondering if the 2.2 L4 will be able to start off really fast like my car can? The acceration I mean.. It has 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. My Grand has has 155 HP and 185 torque, I am pretty sure i have the 3.1v6.
So any help is appreciated! I mean there was 14 years of technology in between right?
Also I was thinking of going with a 2009 Pontiac G6 GT any thoughts?
The G6 GT has a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 219 hp and 219 lb-ft of torque

If you're not keeping up on oil changes, and air filters and tune ups and all that good stuff its not going to last much longer. you should really change the tires though. my old grand am had 400k on it before the engine just quit and thats because i took very good care of the engine. i have the same exact grand am you do and if you want to see accelerating differences, check youtube for things like 0-60 on the G6 and the 95 Grand Am (SE i am assuming) or, test drive a G6 or two and check for yourself. the new G6's have smaller engines and are more fuel efficient but honestly i'd say they are both pretty much the same unless its a GT

I'm sorry I don't have much to contribute, but I would like to point out one thing. On a car that is 15 years old, you should definately change the tires more than once. It is very unsafe to be driving with extremely worn tires. Did you buy it used?
As for the G6, I'd consider buying one. It was supposed to be (depending on where you read) the 6th generation Grand Am. Slightly larger, perhaps a little better looking in my opinion. If you really want a treat, buy the GXP! It's got sportier styling, and a 3.6L that produces 252 HP and 251 lb-ft.
