What specific element of the movie The Human Centipede (First Sequence) is the most disturbing to you?
I showed my husband the trailer after explaining what I read about the movie on Wikipedia because he was curious to see what disturbed me so much about it. He told me it was sick but then wanted to watch it. Although the trailer and reading the plot was enough for me, he was asking why it was so disturbing to me to the point where I could not watch it. I told him because my mind automatically goes to the victims, I put myself in their shoes and think of how horrible it will be to become the victims to make out the human centipede. So my question is, for those of you who agree it's a disturbing thought but can stomach the movie, where does your mind set go when you watch it? Do you connect to the characters at all when thinking about something as disturbing as this? I just want to see where people connect to the movie and what part makes it disturbing besides the obvious. Is it because it could possibly happen in real life? Is it because you put yourself in their shoes? I hope this makes sense. Thanks to all who provide serious answers.

I am like you and often watch a horror movie from the victim's point of view and become probably more disturbed because of that. Or yell at my TV because I would not have run back up the stairs....But Human Centipede isn't a realistic scenario, so that isn't what would make me not want to watch it. It looks like it will be really disgusting, so I'm not all excited to see it. I prefer movies with some kind of plot rather than pure shock factor.

I actually think it's incredibly unrealistic and would not happen in real life. Mostly because anyone smart enough to be able to perform the surgery without killing them is also smart enough to know what the end result will be based on basic biology. Also this is a poor example of a centipede, he should have stitched elongated pieces of torso and intestine to one human and attacked multiple functioning legs and arms. That's more like a centipede and a more impressive surgery. Just saying.
This movie's point seems to be to just gross people out, nothing more. No one in real life is doing this, the surgery I mean. But there are people in real life who have poo fetishes and do this sort of thing without being forced, so there is really no reason to stitch them together, you could probably find volunteers on the internet lol. People are messed.

I saw the first one and it was horrible. But I don't think it should be banned, if people over 18 want to watch it then that's up to them...
