Do you notice a difference between AGW deniers in winter and AGW realists in summer?
This past winter when it snowed on the east coast of the USA, global warming deniers were going berzerk. It was called 'snowmaggedon' in Washington DC, Fox News reported that 'Al Gore's global warming' was over, and there were dozens of 'questions' on this site from AGW deniers about how the global warming theory was debunked by this storm.
Now Washington DC is experiencing record hot temperatures. This year was the hottest spring on record in DC, and temperatures are currently approaching 100°F. "This spring's average of 66.7 degrees was a half degree warmer than the average for spring 1991, formerly the warmest spring in Washington's history"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic...
At the same time, heat waves are shattering record temperatures in the Middle East and Africa as well.
http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comme...
And guess how many AGW realist questions there have been about these records? Zero. Guess how many AGW realists are arguing that these local weather events prove anything about global warming? Zero. A winter snowstorm results in dozens of deniers claiming that global warming is over, and yet numerous record-breaking heat events result in zero AGW realists arguing the opposite.
Deniers keep telling us that 'alarmists' always claim hot weather proves global warming. Yet reality seems to prove the opposite. Have you noticed this difference between global warming deniers and realists, and what do you think about it?
As a side note, record hot events in the US this year have tripled record cold events.

The irony is that the claims being made during winter were not only about weather, but that very weather was entirely consistent with mainstream AGW predictions.
The most recent winter was the warmest on record globally. And warmer temperatures are entirely consistent with increased intensity of precipitation events (which, when the temp is below 0ºC, means more snow), because warmer air carries more moisture (4% more for every degree C) and so is able to dump more when it comes down.

BB deleted his question. Seems to happen when answers presented conflict with denier reality. "Why don't you go live in a yurt while I fly back and forth between LA and NY a few more dozen times this year and we’ll see what happens?" Real helpful suggestion there. Pat's analysis went wrong with the 1/3 - 2/3 thing. In reality, 4/5 of the world lives off grid and without advanced technology. Therefore, 1/5 of the world is causing the problem. Of the 1+ billion people in the developed world, 1/3 of them could drop dead tomorrow and the problem would remain. The bottom line is that the US, which is 5% of the world's population, uses 25% of the energy. He is trying to justify his willful ignorance by transference and blaming others. It's really a microcosm of our societal denial. I will block out anything that conflicts with my established world view and blame you for bringing me contradictory information. It's perverse. Here is an analogy that maybe the reactionary right can understand. We have structural deficit problems in the US. We’ve made commitments for Medicare and Social Security that we will never be able honor because expenditures will always outstrip revenue. The only fix is to make sacrifices now - to cut benefits or raise taxes. Or, as our esteemed German friends have pointed out, to never have let yourself get into the situation in the first place. We’ve done the same thing with the environment. We’ve spent 100 years building our infrastructure and society in such a way that it has locked us into an energy intensive future. I couldn’t live in the woods if I wanted to. I have to live in a dwelling with an occupancy permit, with sewerage, water, heat and electricity - by law - code and zoning. The only way to fix the problem is to make sacrifices now - to cut energy use or make the investment to convert to clean energy. Or, go back in time 35 years to the first energy crisis and do what was promised – cut our dependence on foreign oil in 10 years. Oh well. I wonder, of those 1+ billion, how many are uber consumers who are really, really causing the problem? Or is just living in the developed world enough? I drive a 40mpg car, don't fly, super insulated my house, change all the light bulbs, carefully scrutinize every purchase to avoid non recyclable waste, salvage and store materials for reuse, and joined an organic co-op. Is that enough to make a difference? Personally I don’t think so, but I try to live by example. If everyone did this, including business and government, energy use and waste would drop by ½. Of course, the consumer economy would tank.

I just wish someone would make a documentary on the absolute insanity of radio and T.V. hosts who have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to global warming. If this year turns out to be the warmest on record, there must be hours on end of material from radio talk shows, blogs, cable "news" and so on that can be made fun of and laughed at. How many countless times have I heard that we are in a cooling trend? And if this year is the warmest on record, rest assured next year will be another cooling trend according to these same people. They will just pretend they never said anything and come up with some new fad talking point.

I notice a difference. Here they are:
- In winter, there ARE AGW 'deniers' (as you call them but NOT all) claiming we are heading into an freezing ice age. This will be catastrophic to the world because lakes and land will freeze over which will make life extremely difficult for humans along with plants and animals (assuming any live) which is very bad! In fact, some are stating we are all gonna die!
- In summer there ARE AGW 'realists' (as you call them but NOT all) claiming that there is gonna be massive droughts and scorching hot temperatures which will be disasterous for the world causing problems such as sea levels to rise resulting in places been submerged underwater and refugees everywhere. Some are stating the planet is gonna be a dustbowl and/or we are all gonna die!
So in conclusion we seem to have alot of nuts running around like chicken littles.
To finish off you state that there have been no questions talking about the supposed heat. While that MIGHT be true (that dang scepticism) this question is basically talking about those temperatures so technically this question would count and bring that 0 number to 1.

whats happening now is weather patterns going out of whack due to climate change and earth trying to compensate.
Thats why we'll see one winter with NO snow and then the next winter with 20 ft. of snow
just like you see 4 months of heavy rain, then not a drop for another 4 months.
for the whole spring, temperatures would go as high as 90, then plunge down to the 30's
the weather patterns are being pushed into extremes

LOL.
So you are arguing that the warmers are not saying anything about the hot spell, by talking about the hot spell. Are you going for irony and humor?
In response to being called stupid by those elitists (one of whom thinks that 3 years is enough info to determine trends, while 15 years isn't). I have to say that only fools take warmer temps that approach being 0.05 degrees warmer than 1998 as proof of exponential warming.

Prediction: next time we have a summer cooler than the one before, which happens quite often because year to year fluctuations > average annual effect of trend, some people we have met here or their sockpuppets will claim it as evidence that the earth is cooling.

There are no longer people claiming the atmosphere is cooling, now that temperatures increased when the La Nina ended -- just as predicted by climatologists.
There are no longer people predicting a solar-caused mini-ice age, now that we didn't cooling during the solar minimum but in fact continued to warm -- just as predicted by climatologists.
Deniers simply do not understand the complexity of climate. They are mostly thoughtless, simple-minded and uneducated -- which is due to the state of our media. As people become more educated all of these stupid comments will stop and the public debates will move to how to react.

I notice , the AWG believers are still running in tin foil hats screaming " Al Gore was right, it is getting warmer." . However here in the fall , they will run back to their homes to hibernate, and spend their winter watching Henti-Anime type porn.

It is not the media's fault that stupid people are stupid.
