Is professional hair dye (from Sally's) better than drugstore hair dye?

I don't need to cover grays, I'm just looking for accurate non-brassy color that will be pretty and not show up too dark or light.

    No.

Hair dye is hair dye, either way, no matter what brand/color they ALL damage and causes the hair to feel like hay. They're chemicals, aren't they and they are still regulated by the FDA.

Absolutely! My hair is very dark and I use color from sally's (My hair is platinum now). I used to get it done professionally but started highlighting my hair with the stuff from sally's and it looks the same. Just be sure you follow the directions and have great after color conditioners.

Yess!! Also look for a white bottle with a big 20 on the front and mix that with the hair color dye.. It mellows out the color and stops from harming your hair so much(:

Sally's hair dye is much better for your hair then most, almost all, hair dye brands; mostly since Sally's stores are where professional hair stylist's buy their products.

Yes, it's stronger. That's why it is only sold to licensed hairdressers. In the drug store, I would get L'Oreal. To tone down any brassiness, get something with a blue or violet base.

ANYTHING is better than drugstore quality hair products. However, all color must be applied correctly to avoid "brassiness".

professional is 100000 times better. drugstore stuff makes your hair fall out, pro stuff makes your hair healthier for the most part as long as you dont bleach, go black, or go seriously orange

its better but more risky you should use a drug store middle color and it wont be brassy unless you choose blond or bright brown
