Just got new kitten, 8 wks old...how to clean gunk out of her ears?
Butterface is 8 wks old, and overall, very healthy. But how do I get the gunk out of her ears? She was part of an outdoor kitty litter...her ears have black stuff in them? yuk
Butterface is so cute and sweet, but...I JUST NOW got her. She has black gunk in her ears-she was an outdoor kitty. Got her today, have not taken her to vet yet. How do I clean black crap out of her ears? Can I use hydrogen peroxide or just plain water and Q-tips? I will have the money for the Vet next week. WTF do I do? THX.

"Black stuff" can be indicative of a yeast infection. Have you had the ears checked out by a vet? That would be my first resort. If its just dirt, the vet will clean it out for you most likely free of charge (except of course for the visit fee). If you haven't had him checked by a vet at all, this is a necessity to make sure he is healthy, but it sounds like he has an infection that needs proper care. A vet is your best bet.

Hi. You need to take her to the vet next week definitely. As for the eyes, take a soft cloth, wet it with warm water, not dripping though and gently clean the gunk. The black stuff in the ear could be ear mites or nothing, they'll check that when you go to the vet. Good Luck, Hope I helped :)

If your kitten has black stuff in her ears. It is probably ear mites, and the black stuff is the ear mite poop. Does your kitten scratch at her ears lots? I used to live on a farm and our cats would get it sometimes. Just go to the vet asap, and get ear drops. It clears right up after a few times use I believe.

Both my cats had the same problem so i can relate. It was years ago but i believe they are caled mites or earmites but im not positive all you do is go get some prescription eardrops from your local vet and they clear all up its common so no need to worry your cat will not like the eardrops just for the heads up. i know you probably don't want to take advice from a 13 yr old but my 2 cats had the same problem so trust me.
(: good luck
