My cat is stuck up in my roof and after 3 days, she will not come out?
A few days ago my inside only cat found a way up INSIDE my roof. We do have a small man hole in the bathroom that we have put a ladder underneath to try and get her, but she won't come anywhere near us when we are there with a ladder. We have put water and food up there for her but it's winter here in Australia and without insulation, my house is freezing.
In my roof there are gaps from the tiling on the roof which let wind in from outside, and I don't want my cat to get too cold up there.
Other than calling fire fighters or animal rescue, is there any other way to get her out? Manually, there is no way I can get up there or get anyone else up there to get her.
She has always been one to venture out and explore.. other times she has left the house for days on end and hid around the house. She has been up inside my roof twice before, and has been able to be reached through the man hole but now, she has learnt that if she gets near us, we'll get her.
Yes, she does have an obvious way to get down.. but for me, it'd be impossible to get up there the way she did. I don't know how much longer to leave it. She meows a lot for about 20 minutes and then stops for maybe 40, and so on. So I suppose to an extent she is slightly distressed.

Wow, how stressful for you.
Does your cat seem distressed by being up there? And does she have an obvious way to get out? Is she eating the food you are putting up there?
If she has an easy way to get down and she does not seem too worried, perhaps let her come down in her own time?
If she is cold, surley she will seek them comfort of the house and come down?
But, only leave it a couple more days before calling in the pro's.

Looks like she does love to hide other then a firefighter which was in my mind but the stranger might scare her more.
Was she ready to have baby kittens ?
To get her down you might shake a food sack or a bag of treats she likes just don't say much just let the sound of the sack get her close.
I've had cat's like this got one now I can yell here kitty and he will run but if I shake the food bag he comes running to me. I call him nut-ball because he is a little nutty even standing close to me meowing almost like a whining and tilting his head up at me.He meow's all the time like that.
I'd worry about the cold too, if you are tired of her staying up there the fireman will be able to get to her but you may have a hole to have fixed too.
The ladder is a great idea.
I'm glad she can get food and water too.
If your an hour or two late feeding her wonder if she would run down the ladder to see if the food is in the room ? Might try it !
Best Wishes !

Elena:
Oh for Pete's sake, call someone to get your cat out of the roof. Your cat has been in there for three days and three nights. Maybe you should put a folding ladder there so you are able to climb in and climb out, hire construction men to put in a small door with a folding ladder. Giving her water and food is keeping your cat there unless you have mice in the attic.
