Anyone used the Bushmaster ACR?

I was wondering what the current consensus is on it... Many of you remember my less-than-stellar comments on the features several weeks ago. 

We broke one in the store today..... Two weeks old, not a round fired through it, with the barrel changed a couple dozen times. 

The coat-hanger-wire wrench that twists the quick-change barrel snapped off... So the barrel can no longer be removed. It really impressed the customer that we were demonstrating it to...

Several of us witnessed the incident.... The employee performing the action had experience with the barrel. It is unanimously agreed he was performing the action correctly, and not using excessive force. 

So, now, on top of being horribly heaving, having the ability to install the recoil spring incorrectly due to poor design, and terrible ergonomics.... It is fragile as glass, too. 

We got the 2nd one out of the back.... It's so tight, the take-down pins have to be driven out with a punch. Even pressing them with a cartridge tip won't release them. 

Are we just unlucky, or are these things as horribly over-rated as I think they are? .... We're selling them well blow MSRP.... But they aren't moving, while regular AR15s are steadily being sold.

That ruins it for me. I was waiting to get hands-on with one at our local store. The gun magazines have been gushing over it since Magpul announced it like two years ago--but even Hi Point seems to get positive press in them. (I read Gun Tests to get something near to a decent evaluation of a gun.) 

What about the FN SCAR? While I don't think that Bushmaster is crap, I get that they're not a high end AR manufacturer. But they've got a lot riding on this and I didn't think that they'd screw it up. FN is in a similar position with the SCAR. I was holding out for the SCAR Heavy; haven't seen one yet.

Well, that leaves the Robinson XCR.

I believe the ACR is simply a gun that was designed to be used in a video game and has no real practical use. What was wrong with the good ol' M4? I have had an AR-15 for a couple years, and I have had no problem and love it as a plnking gun. In my oppinion, we dont need an 'Adaptive Combat Rifle', we need the military to stop spending our money. So honestly, im not surprised that it is a piece of sh**.

Its a sharp looking weapon, sorry I haven't used one.  My first personally owned AR was a Bushmaster as it was a good price new in box, I returned it a week later, nothing but problems.  I don't know if that is the norm or I just got lucky but I haven't tried one since.

You know what? F*U*CK bushmaster. There I said it. They make a gun, they hype the **** out of it, then they go and charge DOUBLE what they say there were going to. And of course the fans gobble it up. The weapon will fail to perform as advertised, that's why bushmaster had to get such a movement on it. I don't know if you just got a couple bad models or bushmaster rushed it out or what. I just don't care for that company.

Bushmaster is like NIKE. They make a product on par with it competitors, doesn't really offer anything else and gouge you with a higher price. A price that's only higher because of the name. Your paying for name, like NIKE shoes.

AR's had a lot of bugs at first. They just need to work out some of the problems, and it will be a GREAT rifle.

yea, adaptive combat rifle you mean (ACR) Im a test shooter, ( i get to shoot al the new guns made by bushmaster) its a good gun
