Could my cats be evolving? And if they are, could they be trying to kill me?

I was preparing to go bungee jumping today when I noticed several suspicious areas that looked like they had been shewed half way through. If I had jumped with that cord I would have died. I also noticed my cats together in a corner with their heads together and occasionally giving me strange looks. Could they be planning to kill me and inherit my house?

Cats are always trying to kill you... for example, when they're walking on you while you're lying down and step on your belly, they're really trying to find weak spots. When you enter a room and they scurry away, it's a failed reconnaissance mission.

Whatever they are doing, it isn't evolving if they're the same cats. Evolution requires reproduction and death.

But yeah, having *two* descendants of sabre-toothed tigers in your home at the same time is just asking for trouble. If you really must have more than one cat, never get kittens from the same litter; they will just gang up on you. If your cats hate each other, then they will be too busy plotting to kill one another to bother with you!

They can't have evolved that fast. If they plot to kill you they will want to eat you. If you died bungee jumping their plan would be stupid. Pay attention to this: do they ever sniff your ankles while standing near you? That is a sure sign they want to eat you. Take steps.

Get over it! Cats first of all, only put up with their owners because they haven't opposable thumbs to operate a can opener. Secondly, in small ways every living creature is constantly evolving, because the earth itself is constantly changing. Don't believe me? Explain vestigial tails in human beings, or the appendix.

cats were always smart that way.

they lay there with their narrowed eyes pretending they are enjoying a great sunbath, but really, they are waiting to see if you are going to trip over that string from the ball of yarn they were playing with earlier, which happens to be draped somewhat unobtrusively across the threshold of your bedroom door.

If house cats were big enough they would kill and eat you.

Cats are devils. If the owner dies they will eat you.
